@Arden: That doesn't sound good. How long ago did you have the baby? I would say go get checked out, I always feel like that when I am coming down with the flu.

Is your blood sugar low? I'd eat some carbs and see if that helps. Hope you figure out what's going on!

hmm when i feel that way i normally have to eat right away --- maybe try downing a glass of orange juice and eating something sweet followed by something more hearty/healthy/substantial and water?

the sweet treat to get your blood sugar up quick and the other food to stabilize and give nutrition? and water to hydrate?

of course i'm the farthest thing from a doctor so if you don't feel well please do call the nurse line or doctor or even 911!

Any chance you could have mastitis? Or be dehydrated?

When I got mastitis, my boob was only a little bit sore (at first)... the main thing I noticed was a fever and feeling cruddy.

I definitely felt like this in the early weeks some. Grab a snack... Cheese, peanut butter, something hearty... And lay down a bit. I hope it passes, but definitely call a doc if it doesn't!

I would call your doctor or does your insurance have a nurse hotline? I think that's a better bet than asking the Internet.

I did the same the the day after I started my MSPI elimination diet! It was scary ! I think my blood sugar was wayyyyy low

Feeling hungry all the time, shakiness, feeling hot, can't stand for too long or you'll feel faint, sweating more than usual, fast resting heartbeat ( mine was always in the hundreds). If you continue to feel sick and it goes away when you eat, I'd call the doc.

@Arden: I had a REALLY extreme case so I don't want to freak you out... just putting that out there...

At first I just felt really weird... It was hard for me to describe but if I was asked to get up & do something I'd feel like if I did I'd probably hit the floor. Then I had a fast heart rate (always 120+), high bp (you don't want to know), palpitations, sweating alot (even though it was in the 40's & 50's), rapid weight loss (I lost 20lb in a month and was eating out all the time for travel), and shortness of breath...as I got worse (they were unable to control it with meds at all) I couldn't sleep, had anxiety attacks, major muscle weakness (couldn't pick G up or get up from sitting by myself), forgetfulness to the extreme, hairloss, increased liver function... pretty much every symptom listed in the Med books under Grave's disease.

Really though nothing I ever did made it better so IMO the fact that eating help likely points to the simple low blood sugar. I really wouldn't worry unless it continued.

ETA: I would think your MW could run a Thyroid panel no prob... or atleast a TSH & T4.

have you been anxious at all? this is how i felt when i was dealing with post partum anxiety. even if i didn't feel anxious right that second my hands were visibly shaking and my heart just felt funny. (i know you didn't mention your heart but i thought i'd just throw that symptom out there.)

@Arden: I was going to say thyroid also. It's not uncommon for women to develop post partum thyroiditis and swing between hyper and hypo symptoms. It can go away or develop into a lasting condition. I have Hashimoto's which is the autoimmune form of hypothyroidism and Grave's is the autoimmune form of hyperthyroidism. You want to make sure your doctor tests TSH and FREE T4 and FREE T3, not total T3/T4. Your doctor can also test certain antibodies to determine if it's post partum, Hashi's or Grave's if your thyroid levels are off. By the way the reference ranges given by labs are often set too high for TSH so your doctor may not think there is a problem if your TSH is still "within range". Most people feel best ~1 and that's the optimum level for childbearing women anyway.

My symptoms were similar to the above. I was beyond exhausted that I couldn't even move, but I thought that was just normal FTM stuff. My extremities would shake and I was always cold. I had major hair loss beyond regular pp hairless that resulted in balding patches, heart palpitations, low bp, extreme weightlose (this is usually a symptom of hyper/Grave's). I also felt faint or would get dizzy easily upon standing. I had develope a sizable goiter as well. My TSH was over 44 at diagnosis and my antibody levels are off the charts.

While you have your doctor check your thyroid you may want to also ask for your vitamin d and b12 levels to be checked as low levels can also cause similar symptoms.
