I took the First dose (800 mg I think?) vaginally on Monday afternoon. I had some mild cramping about 45 minutes later, about 3 minutes of intense cramping a couple hours later, and pretty much nothing the rest of the night. Tuesday morning I started spotting, but definitely not anything significant.
My doc called in another dose, and I’m really hoping this works because I just want to be done and of course want to avoid a d&c if possible.
Has anyone had the second dose actually work?

@erinbaderin: I took four pills the first time, but that was only one “dose”. Was it more than that for you? When I googled it looked like one dose was typical?

My doctor gave me two doses and the second dose is when I began to bleed.

I was told to take 800mg (4 pills vaginally) for two days in a row for my first missed miscarriage. After the first dose I think I passed everything, though.
My second miscarriage I was just prescribed the one dose.
My friend had to take it 2-3 times but it did eventually work.
Sorry you’re dealing with this, it’s no fun at all.

@LAZB: I can’t remember how many pills it was, I’m sorry! I just remember that I had gone to the ER to get them, because the fertility clinic doctor couldn’t see me for like three days and I emotionally couldn’t wait, so the ER gave me a dose, and then nothing happened so I called my clinic and they said that I should have gotten two doses to take two consecutive days. After the second dose it happened.

Yeah I know I took multiple pills over time, unsure on dosage.... I thought it didn't work, but it did.

I took it twice then still had to get a d&c. I think I hid from it too much perhaps. When i started cramping i laid down, and didn’t move. I always wonder if I did what I know to do in birth, maybesome walkinglunges, sir on the toilet,if it would have worked.. good luck!

@oskarsmommy: I was like you. I took both doses but still ended up getting the D&C like 2 weeks later. It was long and drawn out and very dramatic. I wish I had just gotten the D&C in the first place. It would have been fast and then I could have moved forward.

Ok, took another dose three hours ago, no bleeding, no cramping, just FREEZING. I really hope things pick up

Good news, I started bleeding and passing clots around 3:45 this morning (12 hours after my second dose). No cramps really, so I’m not in a lot of discomfort. I’m glad it seems to be working.

@Chuckles: thanks, I agree, it’s not like bleeding is fun, but it’s necessary and I’d rather be able to avoid surgery if possible.

Second dose seemed to work. My lining is still a little thicker than ideal, but the doctor is fairly confident everything passed. I go for another ultrasound next week to confirm

We had the same due date and we were posting pix of our FRERs. I lost my baby and updated your "out of tests" post for any googlers future reference. I looked you up to make sure your baby was still a-okay, but found this post. Your tests and levels were so good, I don't know what to think. I'm so sorry you're going through this loss. This is the first time I've miscarried far enough along that there was actually something to see. It's heartbreaking. when I found out your lost your little March 2019 baby, I just had to make an account to offer my condolences. Devastating news.. I hope the rest goes smoothly for you.
