Like the title says. What can we expect? N has his first appointment with GI on Thursday. We are out of our element a little but I am hoping for some answers sooner rather then later.

We had one and it was mostly just talking - long verbal history. He decided no issue, but sent us to a nutritionist just for more support.

We had to get the kids undressed for weight, height, etc. but other than that it was all talking. We went over everything with a nurse for a LONG time (twins so we had to describe everything basically twice - ugh). Then the dr reviewed and came in. He was only with us for 15 min. He looked in their throats, ears, felt their bellies, and so on. We were taking a wait and see approach after that so we talked about the plan going forward, reviewed their meds, then we were on our way. The longest part by far was going over all the issues we had seen, what made it better, what made it worse, etc.

@Mrs Green Grass: @twodoghouse: Thank you for the replies ladies! We have met with a dietician already. Between her and our doctor that are hoping GI has answers. So are we....N has had chronic GI issues since 12 months. He is going to three in the fall

@MrsRcCar: poor buddy! If things hadn't resolved on their own, we were going to move forward with testing (Ultrasounding their abdomens, upper GI scope). Since N is older and has dealt with this for awhile, maybe you can push for testing right away. I hope you get some answers quickly!

@twodoghouse: I will be pushing for testing as soon as possible. We just moved to a place with public pool and poor guy can't play in the pool with the other kids.
I also can't put him swim lessons until we get it under control.

Poor little guy! I haven't had to take my lo but for me it was mostly like a regular dr appointment except of course you're talking about GI stuff. GI issues are hard on me so I can only imagine how tough it is to deal with your little one going through it. Hope you have answers soon!
