DH went out to get me a McNugget happy meal at 1:00am, I was still in the delivery room with my hour old baby eating away- the nurses said that was a first haha. But after 28 hours of labour and not being able to eat anything, I was starving!!

I delivered right before 8am. My nurse brought me a breakfast tray. I had eggs, bacon, grits, and I think some toast. My husband fed me while I fed the baby for the first time.

Both times the nurses brought a turkey sandwich. This past time my husband got us burgers and fries for dinner from a really good local place.

With DS1 I was super nauseous after for quite a while and had a hard time eating breakfast (but I don't remember what it was)

DS2 I gave birth at 10 pm so....I think I had a snack and then breakfast in the morning?

I was so not hungry. They had chick fil a in our cafeteria, though and I asked for one of those sandwiches. Didn't eat it. First thing I really ate was a dry turkey sandwich at 2am from the nurses fridge. It was the best thing ever.

Ugh I'm still mad about this. I delivered right before midnight and the cafe and cafeteria were already closed for the night, and the hospital didn't bring me breakfast until after 8:00 the next morning. We were both so tired there was no way I was sending my husband out that late to get food. I was STARVING!

After being sick and having food aversions my whole pregnancy I was so excited to eat!! Immediately after DH ordered breakfast but I don't think I ate much. I had the most amazing grilled cheese for lunch, with chips and chocolate ice cream. Yum.
Then my in laws brought in n out for dinner. YES.

I have clearly told my husband that I expect him to go get me some Sprinkles cupcakes for after delivery! (not a meal, and not something I can't have now.. but that just sounds awesome to have a whole box of them waiting on me!)

I had DD at 4:25pm but didn't eat until the next morning because of the anesthesia and I couldn't stop puking even after birth. The last real meal I had had was the morning of the day before which I had also thrown up. So I was pretty happy with the breakfast I had the next am even though it was nothing special! Eggs, toast, etc. Oh and a fruit cup. I was totally obsessed with the hospital fruit cups.

I think it was a turkey sandwich from the cafeteria. Then once we got to the recovery room, we missed dinner service, so we had Jimmy John's delivered.

I delivered at night, after not having even eaten lunch. I don't think I ate until the next morning, when the nurse brought me breakfast.

For LO1--mcDonalds. It was the only thing open that late Hospital kitchen was closed for the night. But I wanted to eat around 3 am and there was a 24 hour McDonalds nearby.

LO2, I gave birth around noon. I think I had a late lunch of rice and chicken around 1:30 pm.

My first "meal" after my first was applesauce and stewed tomatoes. I had been SO sick throughout L&D (and the whole pregnancy) that I was wary of trying to eat anything. Once my appetite came back later that night, though, I had the MOST AMAZING roasted turkey sandwich (I still think about it almost 4 years later!)

I was on a "light" diet after my second (C-section), and I think my first meal was mac and cheese and chicken broth, lol!

I don't remember! He was born around 11 am, and I guess I just had hospital lunch or dinner at some point? Sad! But later I do remember DH bringing fresh baked cookies from a bakery close to the hospital. I had a real dip in appetite after giving birth, took about a week and my milk coming in to turn into the hungry monster that I became for the next 2 years!

I gave birth at 7:30 but didn't eat anything until the next morning because I had mcdonalds for lunch that day and laboring after eating mcdonalds is disgusting and I felt sick. Bad choice!!

I had hospital food but it was pretty darn good! I had grilled cheese, french fries and chocolate chip cookies.

@Alba4: I had whatever nastiness the hospital provided. I'm pretty sure in the morning I had cream of wheat lol. I was starving and ate everything in front of me!

I don't like deli meat and didn't give up sushi (or really any food) during pregnancy, so there wasn't much I was craving (other than alcohol!). I don't exactly remember, but it was a dinner from the hospital. I think burger, mac and cheese, some sort of veggie, cookies and juice.And Snyders Cheddar Pretzels which we had brought to the hospital!

I actually ate some during labor (my nurse was awesome!) but mostly wasn't hungry, even though I labored for 21 hours. Luckily I had a big grilled cheese dinner just before labor started!

My first meal after having DD was depressing: cheerios. I gave birth at 10:30pm and the cafeteria was closed and it was too late to order delivery. Cereal was all the nurses had access to. And the kicker was that I had been in labor for 25 hours and was so nauseous/throwing up that I hadn't eaten anything while at the hospital. While pushing I was starving and I remember telling them how hungry I was. I normally love Cheerios but that was a sad meal! I'd say my first "true" meal I was excited about was dinner we ordered in the next night. It was pizza from a really good local joint the nurses recommended. I'd had heartburn when eating pizza during pregnancy and it was amazing to eat pizza again without it!
