of course they can't carry their own baby! Are kim and kanye wearing matching shoes?
pear / 1698 posts
I don't know if that's from leaving the hospital, but my hospital wouldn't let us carry LO out. They had a transport team that carried her car seat all the way to the car. We weren't allowed to take her ourselves. It was weird, but policy I guess!

@LemonLong: no this was yesterday after a doc appointment and it's their nanny/nurse carrying apparently. lol
@mrskc: haha didn't notice that!
coconut / 8234 posts
Of course they can't carry their own baby. Gotta get there money's worth with the nanny!
@LemonLong: It says the photo is from yesterday when they were going to a doctor's appointment. They're just lazy!
I would think Kim would want to carry the baby to help hide her stomach area instead of doing the 90s grunge look.

I like that they are both wearing the same tasselled boots. Puke.

I totally understand celebs having nannies in general given their lifestyle (their schedule and the need for security certainly wouldn't work for a day care center). But WHY do you need your nanny to come to a Doctor appointment? Can the two of them not handle that alone? Were they afraid the child might poop while they were out and about and they simply wouldn't know what to do?
pomegranate / 3890 posts
they both look really grungy looking, I cant imagine going to the drs like that. lol. not saying I looked amazing months after P was born, but for how she usually glams herself up, couldn't she atleast of brushed her hair?? and kanye, I cant even, get a belt. and ya, carry your own kid. blah.

Honestly, if I were a celebrity expecting to be accosted by paparazzi whenever I go out with my kid (including to doctor appointments), of course I would bring an extra set of hands for help. And if someone wanted to help me carry an awkward car seat, great!
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
She looks so small under all those baggy clothes! No extensions either.
coconut / 8234 posts
@mole: True. Though I'd have the biggest, meanest bodyguard holding my baby if I was them! Those paparazzi can be crazy.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
Hm, my first thought about them not carrying the kid is that maybe they did it as a paparazzi-deterrent. A pic of Kim holding the car seat would be worth way more than one of the nanny holding the car seat with KK trailing behind them.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@mole: I get that but on the other hand, I would carry my baby. With all that paparazzi, there is no way I would trust anyone else with my baby. I would want to be the one protecting her.
grapefruit / 4671 posts
I can't help but compare this to Beyonce's pp pics. I can't believe Kim didn't want to at least brush her hair.
pineapple / 12526 posts
I am totally shocked that she's not fully made up and dressed in a bandage dress and stilettos.
coconut / 8475 posts
@plantains: you're kidding right? If we compare, our heads will spin. Let me remind you, Beyonce is like 1000 levels of class higher than Kim K. One girl has got her life together, and one is a mess...They don't call her Queen Bey for nuthn'
Regarding the nanny; I don't care. If I had paparazzi in my spacet all the time, I'd consider some help getting through the ruckus too. If that's extreme, well, their lives are extreme
I am surprised Kim isn't a giant fatty though. I assumed her body type to be the type to hold weight for awhile.
@OLIVIAOBLIVIA: your husband *doesn't* own a pair of tasseled booties?!
grapefruit / 4671 posts
@TurtleDoves: hahaha. I guess I just thought that maybe by hanging out with Queen Bey via Kanye she would have picked up a couple of tips by now.

I'm really starting to question how much DH loves me now. I mean, WHYYY don't we have matching booties?! WHYYYYY!

I think she looks good and who cares what she's wearing. She's usually all glammed up and I don't see why a new mother (even a Kardashian) can't have a dress down day, especially with all of the flack she's sure to catch on her post-baby body. And it really made me so sad how the media (and onlookers) tore her apart during pregnancy. It literally made me cry when I saw a mean picture of her eating and the headline was "Kim can't stop eating for two". Gosh just give it a rest! I know she chooses to be a public figure and with that comes the paparazzi, but jeeze - cut her some slack. Especially the men - I loved the episode of Sex & the City when the guy called Miranda a fat ass and the girls said "she just had a baby - what's your excuse? Having triplets?" Guys were particularly hard on Kim and I'm sure that the majority weren't Adonises. Even my DH is guilty of this and I reminded him.
I'm not a 'feminist' nor a huge Kim K fan, I just think its mean to post every unflattering picture of a pregnant woman they can find and make fun of her for it.
I also don't care about the nanny carrying the baby - who cares? We're seeing one fraction of their life - for all we know they are extremely hands on and this is the one moment they asked the nanny for a hand. What if it was one of her sisters carrying the baby for her, we'd just look at it as someone helping them out. I don't see why it matters that its a nanny.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
I like the fact that she's dressed down, I mean its Kim - have we ever seen her not dressed up for the cameras? Makes her seem a little more real (besides the fact that she doesn't have to carry her baby to the doc )
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@MrsTiz: Seriously! I guess our husbands don't love us enough
grapefruit / 4120 posts
Not sure what the big deal is about the nanny carrying the baby. When I see stuff like that, at first I wonder, too -- it's like a reflex I guess. But think about it... what's so sacred about carrying your own baby's carseat covered with the blanket? Not like the kid cares or knows who's carrying her. That thing is heavy. If you've got help, why not use it? We don't know what goes down the other 23.5 hours in the day. Or if Kim isn't supposed to lift stuff... or whatever.

I think she looks good, much better than I did at dd's 2 month appt. and fwiw I had someone come help me at dd's 2 month appt. I had ppd and was terrified of being alone with the baby and didnt honestly trust dh to "get" things either. Yes that's warped, I wasn't full of reason then. Not saying that's the case for them but like @turtledoves pointed out they may have other reasons for needing help. And when I had help, everyone wanted to hold dd. I lugged the huge diaper bag around (couldn't leave without EVERYTHING! Lol) and they held dd oftentimes.
Edit to add - and I want to say that my not trusting dh had nothing to do with him or our relationship... It was because I only trusted other moms and people who worked with babies a lot.

I think she looks good. Dressed a little bummy that's all. And the nanny should be carrying the baby if she is there!
coconut / 8861 posts
I thought that she looked pretty good in the pics. I thought that she wasn't doing the nanny thing, so the nanny being there was a bit of a surprise.
coconut / 8861 posts
@grizz: I'd still say that this is hiding. She's not dressed in skin tight clothes with pounds of makeup on looking for a photo op.
coconut / 8483 posts
I guess I just can't imagine requiring 3 people to take a baby to the doctors office... but if they afford it why not I guess? haha. I think her look is good.. if she took off that shirt around her waist she'd look so cute I think.. but she probably wanted to cover her bum!
@SweetiePie: totally agree they were so hard on her. she was pregnant.. isn't she supposed to gain weight?!!
coconut / 8861 posts
@Mrs. Champagne: DH and I go to all of baby's appointments together. I meet up with him and LO by catching a cab from downtown. The nanny is too much, but both parents isn't to me.
coconut / 8483 posts
@cascademom: Oh for sure agree. I'd have DH with me if he could make it! Perhaps others suggestions about her carrying the baby was a play to avoid paparazzi.

i cringe every time i see a kardashian thread pop up. on hellobee, we're all about not judging other women, moms in particular. but for some reason we make an exception for kim kardashian? why? because she has money and is famous? she's still a ftm who is probably doing her best...
eta: i have been guilty of making fun of some of her wardrobe choices so i'm definitely not excluding myself... it's just something i've become more and more aware of.
persimmon / 1273 posts
@cascademom @Mrs. Champagne I can't imagine needing three people to take a baby to a doctor either! But I also can't imagine being stalked by paparazzi everywhere I go, so more power to them, perhaps.
kiwi / 613 posts
@loveisstrange: I'd be willing to be $$ on it that she isn't dressed up to the max b/c she has some deal with a magazine to show off her "perfect" post baby body...Then I'm sure you will see her in her full glam attire!!
