Longtime lurker here! I've learned so much from Hellobee and with some encouragement from my DH I decided to step out from behind the curtain

I am 27 and just gave birth to my DS Owen James on December 28th (original EDD was Feb 6, shoutout to you Feb 2013 girls). He was 6 weeks early, weighed 4 lbs 9 oz and delivered via emergency c-section because I had developed preeclampsia and he was in distress. This diagnosis was not a surprise since I was considered high risk throughout my pregnancy (I had a kidney transplant when I was 12) and was on bedrest beginning at 23 weeks. Unfortunately the section was done under general anesthesia so neither my husband or I got to witness our sons birth. I'm still struggling with that and found it hard to bond with DS in the beginning, especially since he spent nearly 3 weeks in the NICU. I'm happy to report though that the hardest part has past and I couldn't imagine life without him! He is completely healthy now and gaining weight like a champ

So long story short, I'm excited to be a part of this community! You are all so helpful and kind, can't wait to get to know everyone!
