We live in a log cabin. The living and dining rooms have hardwood floors, but the kitchen, mudroom, and downstairs bathroom have outdated tile.

My husband found this picture of a thin set flagstone floor and is excited about it—I think he just likes the idea of it being like a castle. I’m 50/50. I like that it’s unique and rustic, but part of me wonders if it will turn off future buyers. What do you think?

It will be sealed, so no worries on that front. We can’t afford heated floors, so it would be cold where there aren’t runners laid down (though it’s the same now with the tile). Feel free to suggest an alternative tile or what have you that would go with a cabin that has reddish brownish logs.
