I've been ruthlessly editing Baby Shopaholic's closet because, well, I'm a shopaholic. 
Anyhow, I got this fleece swaddle bag thing from Marshall's awhile back, but now wondering how useful it will be after I've amassed a few SwaddleMe and Halo Sleepsacks.
Has anyone ever tried one of these on their LO? Useless and I should return? Or nice and cozy for a newborn?

@shopaholic: it's super cute!
but probably not practical. at least not for our DS! he hates fleece anything because it gets him overheated, and we're in mi! you'd think he'd like the warm material!!

DD loved her fleece swaddle sack. Then again, we're in Washington so it's a lot colder here at night.

@autumnlove: March 9th! It's been so cold here in SoCal (as you know) but then the weather seems to be turning around too. SoCal gets so unpredictable at night...

March it should be warmer right? SoCal doesn't get that cold. That's so weird that its so cold there right now. I live in the Central Valley and we're having above avg temps. High of 66 today.
Anywho, I think I would return it if u have other swaddle blankets.

@mrskc: yeah - global warming! I might try and return it if we get a ton of blankets and stuff this weekend. Cute, but actually takes quite a bit of space in the drawer.

I loved our fleece swaddleme swaddles. I have to say that my LO probably used it until about 3 months b/c he kept breaking out which then I started using the Miracle blanket. And when he was outgrowing the length of the miracle blanket I put a Halo sleep sack under and then used the top of the Miracle Blanket to keep his arms from escaping. Around about 4/5 months I had to drop the swaddle completely.

we have one fleece halo newborn swaddle and i like it because it unzips down the front for easy diaper access. i think the fleece will be not as useful come march and our house is pretty poorly insulated, so i understand the desire for warm items! i would return if you can!

I was using ours (with her arms out) because she only had one sleep sack that was warm enough.. Now that she has the Baby Dee Dee we're going to retire the swaddle bag. In So Cal I think it's unnecessary..

We have a fleece Halo sleep sack that we use right now but our house gets pretty cold.
I found that I don't need more than 1 sleep sack in LOs current size. It would be nice to have a backup but I never bothered to get one and havent needed one yet... Knock on wood!

Careful with fleece! My LO overheats in it. He has a fleece sleep sack that we only use at my parents, where his room actually dip below 60 at night. But in a house that's a normal temp he would be a sweaty mess.

OK - it's going back! I do have a couple of Fleece Halo Sleep Sacks and this one is a LOT thicker, so probably too warm. Thanks ladies!
