Do you have to notify your boss/HR within a certain amount of time for FMLA?
I'm not planning to announce at work until I absolutely have to, but I wanted to make sure I'm not jeopardizing FMLA eligibility.

30 days prior to leaving is customary but follow your department or employer guidelines. I told them earlier.
I think I told my work when I was 5 or 6 months pregnant.

I notified HR around 20 weeks, they told me to come back closer to my due date and they would go over everything with me. Both companies I've worked for have an outside agency that works with HR to manage anyone on leave. Once I had the baby I had to notify the agency as soon as I could (I think within a week? My memory is fuzzy) so they could get everything going for FMLA.

I know our company follows the 30 days prior rule.
I told my boss around 14/15 weeks, but didn't notify HR until 20 weeks (and definitely could've waited longer).

Our company asks for 30 days also. I told my manager when I was about 14-16 weeks along. I will notify HR beginning of next month.
I notified them pretty early on when I was pregnant with DS and they told me to reach out to them a month before I was due.

HR doesn't want to hear from me until 30-45 days prior to my due date. But I told my manager around 10 weeks so I could work out a plan for doctor's appointments and coverage during my maternity leave.

I think your company handbook might specify. Mine specified 30 days if possible.
