I'd like to replace my toss-away plastic Glad containers with others that are great for refrigerating leftovers. Ideally, they would be able to go from the fridge directly into the microwave for heating. I looked at Pyrex glass containers with plastic lids, but the box says "no extreme temperature changes."
Does such a thing exist? How do you heat up your leftovers? (I want to avoid leaching plastic into the food.) Recommendations?

We've used the Pyrex glass containers with plastic lids for several years and haven't had any problems.

I have some pyrex too and fridge to micro has always been fine. I just wouldn't do freezer to a preheated oven or anything like that.

I have glass ones and have heated stuff from the fridge before with no trouble. They're not Pyrex but they're great quality and I love them! DH and I were talking earlier today about how much use we've gotten out of them. Ours are from Kohl's, not sure what brand.

We use the glass ones with the plastic lids. I won't put plastic in the microwave, so I remove the lid and cover the top with an inverted small plate. That does the job quite nicely.

We have glass ones with snap on lids and they work great for going from the fridge to the microwave.

@pregnantbee: I have kept them on before (just set on top to prevent splatters, not sealed) and because the lids are so thin, it got kind of warped in the microwave...now I just cover with a paper towel.

@pregnantbee: nope, i always take the lids off. i very rarely cover anything in the microwave, tbh. if I do, it's just a paper towel.

Says they're freezer, fridge, microwave, and oven safe. But I'm not sure they could go from freezer to oven. Maybe?

I have a set of glass ones with plastic covers that I use. I've microwaved them with the lids lightly set on top before (so it isn't actually touching food) and it warped the lids a little, so I wouldn't do that. I have one of those microwave lid things that are vented and use that to cover splatter-- it's plastic, but it's meant to be microwaved and it doesn't actually touch any food. Otherwise a paper towel works.

Thanks again for all the feedback! I bought a set of Pyrex ones with plastic lids. Will also have to invest in larger glass ones, as the Pyrex ones aren't big enough for some of our leftovers!
