We had someone reach out to us about our house (not on the market yet) and they have expressed their interest in purchasing it. We would prefer not to use a realtor, if possible. The person who is interested in purchasing is a real estate agent.
If you have done FSBO, what resources have you used?

Whether or not you use a realtor, I'd suggest having a lawyer handle your closing
My brother is a lawyer and has handled mine, and even with agents on both sides, he's had to overcome some obstacles in my closings. It's nice to not have to worry about the legal stuff!

I haven't, but YHL sold both of their houses FSBO and had some great tips, like making sure it was on the MLS, good fliers, etc. You could check their archives.

@mediagirl: we plan on doing this, and will use a lawyer as well. Our title company has a great document as well that outlines everything you need to FSBO, so you might start there! It lists out all the responsibilities of each party, and what you need to do!

I would not sell to a realtor without listing it first, with or without a realtor. You don't get a market price if the market never has a chance to bid on it.
I've seen this happen multiple times and it never works out to the seller's advantage.

@honeybear: if it was a price I was comfortable with and I could avoid staging/listing/showing plus no realtor fees I definitely would
