Did you or didn't you? I always wanted 2 kids and after I had my second my family felt complete to me. But now once in awhile I think about having a third. I'm surprised to feel this way because I was always so sure 2 was it! For those that were on the fence, did you go for it? Did you not? Do you wish you did? Did you wish you had not?

When I was pregnant with #2, we were pretty sure we were done. Then we had her, and we just knew we wanted another. Me, more so because I just wasn't ready to be done with no more babies around, but I think the gender card was more of my husbands reasoning. We have 2 girls and he wants a boy so bad. He said he knows either way, that with 3 our family will be complete. I'm currently pregnant with 3, and sometimes I worry about it, especially having 3 under 4, but we'll survive haha.

We have two girls too and my husband actually doesn't care if we have a boy. In fact, if we do go for 3 he said he wouldn't mind if it was another girl! I just love seeing my girls together and knowing that they have each other for life makes me want to give them another sibling!

Currently on the fence on #3. DD is 3.5 and DS is 1.5. DH says it's now or never, he wants to be done with babies. And he is 38 I am 35. But I would really like to wait another 6 months to a year before TTC if not a bit longer actually. Idk. I love our family of 4 but on bad days I can't image adding another kid to the mix. But something in me says one more. #2 was tougher on our marriage, I also switched jobs which was a huge adjustment. So that weighs on me too, we are at a good place again finally and I don't want to mess with that. Big decisions to make and I have no idea what way it will end up!

We have one of each right now (3yo and 6months). We always thought we'd be done with 2, if we had one of each. however, shortly after DD was born, we felt like we could go for a third. So talks of #3 have been more frequent. Heck, DH has been randomly throwing out baby names already!!! lol I think we'll go for a 3rd. I'm hoping 3 will help us feel like our family is complete because I'm not sure we can handle 4. But you know how the saying goes, you never know... *ahhhhh* *covers eyes* lol

@pinkb: almost same ages here! DD1 is a little over 3.5 and DD2 is a little over 1. I'm 37 so I feel the same as your DH, it's now or never! And I want our kids to be close in age. I think DH and I would be perfectly happy with our family of four but I just don't want to one day regret not trying for a third...

I wouldn't say I ever felt our family was incomplete...like we knew we wanted kids (probably 2...maybe 3) but I don't think I would've taken much intervention to have a second or third. I dunno. After we had 2, I wanted to at least try for a 3rd so we basically had a window where we would try for 6ish months and then re-evaluate after that if it hadn't happened (we didn't want to get too old or have too far between kids, etc). We got preg with our 3rd 2 months before we were supposed to start trying and due in December. I'm excited, but still have those "what have we done?!" Moments when DDs are being little hellions!

We were sways sure we would be done at 2. But now since I have 2 boys, I want to try for a girl. And I just don't feel ready to be done with babies yet. DH is on her fence but I'm hoping he cors around soon! My age and job are big factors in why I want to try sooner than later.

I was so on the fence and am now pregnant with #3. For me it wasn't about the short term; there are long term family dynamics that I want. We knew we'd never regret having a 3rd but we might regret not having one. It wasn't a decision I was willing to put off either - it was now or never. Mostly we just tried once so that I could figure out for sure what I wanted and the decision was made for me.

@KayKay: agree that if number 3 requires interventions I'm not sure we would have pushed for it. I got pregnant easily.

@MrsB2012: I'm debating about going Team Green for #3 as well since we have 1 of each already so it'd be fun. DH on the other hand doesn't seem as keen on the idea. He wants to know what the sex is the moment I'm knocked up so... lol

I'm glad someone posted this as we are currently trying to figure this out! We have a boy and a girl and DH really wants to have a 3rd...but I'm less sure about it, mostly because I'm the primary caregiver and it's already hard for me with two. I'll be 36 in a few months so I know we need to decide soon. DS is 4 and DD is 23 months so I'm hoping to figure it out in the next few months.

We were on the fence about #3 and then I got pregnant when we were trying to avoid. I miscarried, but it made us realize we wanted a third. Then I got pregnant and stayed pregnant but we lost our third son at 18 weeks because of medical complications. Now, we aren't sure if we will try for a living third child again. My heart says yes, but my head says no.

Well we were on the fence about #3 too and decided to go for it and now #3 & #4 will hopefully join our family in early 2017. Our house will for sure be crazy with 4 under 4.

We were on the fence but decided to go for it - best decision ever!!! We already had two girls but weren't really fussed about gender for the third. We actually had a slight preference for another girl as we thought we had the girl thing down and thought having all girls would be fun.
LO3 turned out to be a boy (we were TG) and I am over the moon, head over heels in love with having a son! I feel like there would have been the biggest void in my life had he not been born and I am thankful every single day that we decided to go for #3. We had three children in four years (DD1 turned four the day DS was born!) but it has been magical. We're only 11 weeks in, but the transition from two to three was far, far easier than the transition from one to two. There is something about having three kids that just makes me feel complete now...
That being said though, I am so enamoured with having a boy, I kind of want to have a fourth in the hopes we'd have another boy!
That won't be happening though....I'm 37 now and I am happy to put my baby making days behind me, although I would happily do the newborn days over and over again!

SO and I were on the fence about a third right now. We knew we wanted another in the future but how soon into the future we had no idea. We had an oops back in June and ended up pregnant early July. That pregnancy ended up being a chemical but with the love and excitement we had for the chemical we knew we wanted another. We decided to try the next month since the dr said that would be fine. We are almost 8 weeks pregnant with our third. This baby had a big sister (4) and big brother (2.5). They already love the baby and talk to it daily. Everything just feels right. I've been thinking for the last week that I would be okay with this being our last. SO and I are young yet so I don't know if a 4th will be in our future.

We are on the fence about a 3rd as well. We currently have a girl and boy only a year apart. If we had a third I think it would need to wait until my oldest was old enough to be out of daycare (for cost reasons) but I'll be 39 by then. So I'm hesitant.

@winniebee: no twins in either family! The doctor started out with saying that oh it's good your laying down... My thoughts were she is either telling me something is terribly wrong or... and then I looked at her face and I was immediately like "don't tell me there is two in there"! But sure enough there were.

@Pumuckl: wow! When I went in they asked what # it was for me and I said third and Prob last and the nurse was like oh, we're seeing twins today then. Only one for us though.
We wanted 3 but after each one were like oh this is kinda nice, everyone's happy and had to reevaluate. but we kept going and hopefully #3 will arrive next month. Def nervous about the balance of it all though.

So it's been 4 months since I started this post. For the past few months I still could not decide if we should go for a third. DH and I agreed to just try for a few months and if it happens it happens. If it doesn't happen by the end of this month then that's it--we're closing the baby chapter and moving on. Well I took a pregnancy test last night and it's :bfp:!!
I'm excited and nervous!!! How about you guys? For those on the fence did you decide to just go for it??

My 3rd Lo is almost 3 months and life got crazy!! Some of it was newborn related a lot wasn't, just bad timing. But even with all the crazy, it's really nice having our sweet little baby, life got harder but it feels fuller and lots of love -
@dolphin: congratulations! We are likely going to TTC after our FL vacation in March. I'm nervous and excited, and still feeling a little on the fence about it because I know it's going to turn our (relatively) calm-ish world upside down!

@bushelandapeck: Thank you! I feel the same as you! I was so torn about having a third because life is good with two. We can travel, we're sleeping, we got this 2 thing down! I started feeling guilty too like if I am not 100% sure about a third then maybe I shouldn't have one. But honestly, I don't think I could ever be 100% sure either way. I'm glad it happened the way it did.

I just had my 2nd girl, and I def had no feelings of ooo I don't want to be done with babies yet, haha. I think DH's age and money are two major things for us. We are barely getting by putting 2 in daycare this year, and we can't really afford 3 in daycare for any time period, or even extended time with 2 in daycare. I think for me personally, if I must, I'm willing to do it again... but DH's a lot older than me and parenting young children requires a LOT of energy! And his "career" is basically our life and keeps him very, very busy.
BUT with all that said, I don't want to say never either. I don't think we'll actively try... But I will actively prevent for now and see what happens.
