Do you ever wonder if when your kids grow up they won't appreciate having had their little lives detailed for public consumption? I've thought about starting a blog ever since becoming pregnant but this is what stops me every time. I know for me I'm mortified enough just by the videos my parents have of me taking a bubble bath... I feel like a blog of my life would be a whole other ball game!

haha. I would love to see videos of myself as a baby/child. Parents didn't own a video camera so we don't have any!
I'm curious to know what I was like as a toddler. I was skyping with my mom this afternoon and I asked if she really thought I was cuter as a baby. I told her.. My baby has such a cute personality, loves to dance, blah blah.. and my mom said I did the same things when I was her age. Uh. Show me proof!!

I think, or hope, that LO would appreciate the documentation. My mom has forgotten so much of baby/childhood. I like to think that everything I post is meaningful.

I've been blogging about my pregnancy pretty openly (but only 1 ultrasound photo, and it's a photo of me holding it so it's far away), but once baby comes I plan on being very, very careful with what I share about the baby. They don't have a choice on what I put out there, so I want to respect the privacy of my child so they won't hate me when it's an adult.

Yeah... I have physical journals because I don't want to publish details about OTHERS' lives. And the writing I've done based on real life stuff is written as fiction. I learned that after my first blog-type post (about my college life in England, sanitized for my really conservative family. Yes, I know S is just sleeping with D because she's in a lull in her 40 person checklist for the year, and D just doesn't care how promiscuous she is since she's the only action he'll get, but if I phrase it like that, my parents will try to get me put into a new flat, and those people were just too much writing material for that. S laughed her head off when she found the sanitized version and basically gave me a pat on the head for being naive.)

By then, everyone will probably be linked together in a hive mind... blogs will seem so old school.
