I never had a period after having Mirena.
I just gave birth on 4/8 and had my Mirena placed on Monday. OB said I prob won't have a period at all since I didn't have one with my previous Mirena.

I have never had a full blown "period", but I do spot every now and then, especially when LO starts taking in less milk (we're verrrrrry slowly weaning)

I got Mirena about 10 weeks after birth I believe. I still haven't gotten an actual period but I've had a few times where I had light spotting for like an hour. I breastfed exclusively until like 3.5 months and then mostly until about 5.5 months. My doctor said that most of her patients don't get a period until they get the Mirena taken out.

Huh, right on. I'm glad it's not just me. Everyone I know who has one has gotten at least 1.
Not sad AT ALL. I was just curious! I got mine at 6 weeks pp.

Not having a period would be amazing! Do you think Mirena is worth having inserted for just 1 year?

@blackbird: that is what I am doing! This is my second Mirena, and I plan to take it out in 12-15 months. It's worth it not to have to remember to take a pill at the same exact time everyday for a year. Plus, my insurance covered 100% of the IUD.
