What is the typical schedule like for TTC? I know most accupunturists like for you to have appointments at certain times in your cycle. I am on CD 1 and want to figure out when to schedule. Thanks

Just weekly for me this time and last time. Mine says it's best to start weekly three months before you want to conceive to maximise egg quality. He said it's because eggs are selected for ovulation that far ahead.

Once a week, but my insurances covers it, so I was able to have regular treatments. My accupunturist would adjust it to make sure I use my appt wisely. Like, last year, I only had a few treatments left that my ins would cover, so she put me on a 2 week treatments when I wasn't actively TTC but ramped back up as soon as I got my CD1. She likes to do an appt the day of my IUI and stops after I ovulate and until I POAS. Then once I got my BFN or AF, treatment would start up again.

I went weekly for a few months before TTC to try to deal with the irregular bleeding I have suffered from for years, and then once we did start TTC, I went 3/4 times per cycle. You definitely want two appointments before O, and then at least one after O, according to my acupuncturist.
I got KU on my second cycle trying (first "real" try, as the first cycle my DH had to be out of town on business during my most fertile days). Acupuncture may not have been what did it, but it certainly didn't hurt! I had two different friends try acupuncture after six months each of TTC and both got KU within two cycles after starting regular acupuncture (two different acupuncturists than mine, as well).

@MrsMccarthy: My acupuncturist sees me once a week, except the week I'm having my period. So, 3X per month.

I like going weekly, but my acupuncturist definitely wants to see me during menses, near ovulation and then on the day of the progesterone spike, which would also align with implantation.

I went weekly and took Chinese herbs after the first month. I think she says that most people have luck within 3 months. I got pregnant after 1.5mo, but miscarried. I didn't conceive again with acupuncture (stopped at 4-5 months).

@MrsMcD: I feel it may be worth a shot and insurance covers 10 visits.

I go weekly and like @mrs.someone I started taking herbal treatments after about 3 sessions. Honestly I really like it, I even find that I feel less stressed since I started going as well. Good luck!

I tried it for a while because I have extremely light, short periods. The treatments accompanied with some herbs really did seem to make a difference. I went once a week for the entire cycle.

I go weekly for my entire cycle. I love acupuncture. If nothing else, it really helps me relax. I truly believe that it has helped my stress level immensely through this IVF cycle, and I also believe it has helped me not to have as many side effects with all the meds that I am taking. It's great!

I went last time I was TTC, and I liked it, although I can't say whether or not it helped me. I went throughout the entire cycle, once a week.
I do have two friends that swear by acupuncture, and they both went to the same place as I did, so I know they were on the same schedule. One got pregnant twice with acupuncture, both successful pregnancies, once with triplets! The other friend had needed different medical interventions, had a mc, and was trying to regulate her cycle for when they would TTC again and got pregnant unexpectedly while she was doing acupuncture.
I'm planning on going back again this time, I have my first appointment set for next Friday.

I went once a week throughout my cycle. She just did different things depending on what CD I was on. So relaxing! Wishing you

@dc yoga bee: enjoy it my darling! When is your birthday again? Is it Friday? Enjoy and try to just look at this as one in many attempts at taking care of yourself. I hope to get some acupuncture again soon too. It helped me ovulate earlier I believe.
