how was the transition?
We are thinking about putting DS in montessori this coming fall (he'll be just shy of two) as we prep to ttc LO2 and also for his socialization, etc.

DD was 15 months - Day 1 was awesome then it went downhill.
To clarify drop off went down hill - teachers said she was happy during the day and she was napping and eating just fine!
Took 3 weeks until she stopped crying at drop off!

My son started just a few days after he turned 2. The transition was rough, but after about 3 weeks he was fine. I think part of it was that the main language at school is not one we speak at home, so he didn't understand what was going on in the beginning. Now he's been there a little over a year and is thriving AND on his way to becoming trilingual.

Following this post - I hope to SAH/utilize grandma until LO is 18 months or so, and then send her to Montessori.

He's going three days a week and it took him a few weeks to adjust. He's gotten much better with drop-off, and the length of his naps has also gotten longer over the past couple weeks. I'm glad we only started part-time, though.

J started 2 days/wk at 15 months. He still has trouble with drop off at 22 months old. I know he's fine within 5 minutes of us leaving and he has NO issues once we are gone, he just freaks out. But he does that if we are going out to dinner and my dad is watching him. The only person he's super comfortable with is my mom who has him the other 3 days/wk
