My water broke in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. It didn't ruin anything but I had a waterproof mattress pad on just in case.

Mine broke in the middle of the night but it wasn't a huge gush so I only thought I peed my pants a little. lol.

Mine broke when I was on the couch. I was really freaked out about it and not very organized because I had a scheduled c and hadn't considered that I could go into labour before, ha ha ha. It got all over the couch/clothes/seat of car/hardwood floors/bathroom floor etc. as I moved about in a panic, and to tell you the truth I totally forgot that happened and never really gave any of those things a good clean up! But the fluid was clear and didn't stain or anything, I guess, because the couch looks fine.
@littlek: my dog also licked it off the floor! Ew!

With #1 I was sitting on the couch and had just bent over to pick up a pen I dropped- it was a significant gush, but I was able to jump up and run to the bathroom before it got on more than just my clothes- everything washed out just fine.
With #2 it never broke, they had to break it shortly before delivery. I had been expecting something big and dramatic like with #1 and was slightly disappointed.

Mine broke while we were leaving childbirth class. It completely soaked my dress and made my flip flops all squishy. We had to run home to get my unpacked bag since LO was 5 weeks early. I ran around the house with a towel between my legs throwing stuff in a bag. It certainly was an experience!
