Would you consider the home you live in now your forever home?
Ours ideally isn't. We only have 1 LO and we are all ready running out of space!

Nope, it's 2 bdrm plus den, but no basement, and it's a stacked town home, so there are people on 3 sides and above us.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Nope! We bought our current home with the intentions of it being a starter home.

Yup!!! Only reason why we're spending so much time & money gutting and renovating! Plan to raise our family here.

Nope. It's nice and we built it but its about 1600 square feet so we will eventually grow out of it. It's fine for now though!

Yup! It's large enough for 3 kidos, has an acre of land, and is in a very desirable neighborhood just 2 minutes outside the city. I can't wait to get all the 70's out of it though!

No, we're in our starter home. We're in the process of getting it ready to sell and finding our forever home.

No, this is a starter home and we plan on moving again when our family outgrows it.

@Mrsjets: Wow that amount of land sounds heavenly! Sadly we will probably never have that kind of space if we stay in our area.

I think so but circumstances can change....more kids, in laws moving in, etc!

I'm not sure! We just built our house and I love it, but forever is a long time.

Nope. We'll be moving to our forever home in less than a year though!

@Boogs: yes it really is! Except in autumn when all the leaves fall Would you ever consider moving a little further from your neighborhood for some extra land?
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
Definitely not. We are renting a 2 bedroom condo that we will definitely outgrow in a few years, but that was the intention.
DH doesn't really like the idea of a forever home-- he feels like we should have the nicest home we can afford, even if it means moving. I tend to disagree, I'd rather have a home that is good enough and we can make our own. So,... we'll see where that goes!

@autumnlove: Very true!
@Pepper: Good point, it can be.
@chopsuey119: So soon, how exciting!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
Probably not. We'd like to have some more land one day.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
Yup, it's our first and forever. 2700 sf + 400 finished basement, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath on 2 flat acres. We just need a kid or two to fill it!
nectarine / 2132 posts
definitely not. i hope our next home will be our forever home, but who knows!
hostess / papaya / 10540 posts
@Mrsjets: We talk a lot about that. Traffic is pretty horrific around here so we worry about commute times. So it's more space/less time at home vs less space/more time at home...we keep going back and forth on what the right thing to do is. Plus we are so close to family and we see them a lot so we aren't sure if we want to give that up either.

Nope. Our two bedroom, two and a half bathroom townhouse is perfect for just the two of us now though. We hope to get into our bigger, forever home in the next couple of years. Ideally, a four or five bedroom, three bathroom house.
pomelo / 5791 posts
Yes, unless we win the lottery!
We're in a 3000sf, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath. I'd like to finish the basement for some extra space and update one of the bathrooms, but that's about it.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
Not at all, and we knew that when buying it. It was our starter home. Next home will hopefully be out forever home.
clementine / 896 posts
We rent, so no. But when we do buy a house we both agree we'd love to be able to buy our forever home, so we'll see what happens!
