I've heard so much about this regression, but I'm wondering: how long did it last for you?
We're not quite there yet, but I'm thinking of starting to transition to the crib and wonder if I should go ahead or wait until we're past it.

We didn't have much of a 4 month regression. I read about it and was super nervous for it because we also sleep trained around that time. But we had no issues with it.

You might not have to deal with it so i would go ahead with your plan. Both of my kids haven't had it.

Right at four months she woke up at night for the first time in months, again the next night, then went back to sleeping 12 straight the third night. It has been remarkably not a big deal around here.

It lasted about a month. Looking back, it wasn't that bad. At the time I wanted to run away. I don't think the crib transition will affect it either way.

Maybe a week, and it wasn't that bad. I wouldn't wait if I were you.

Just like @oliviaoblivia: D woke up at night a few nights (maybe 4 or 5), then went right back to STTN. Not a big issue *knocks wood*

Honestly, thing got worse around 5 months. I would say sleep was bad on and off from wks 15/16 to 6.5 months, when we sleep trained.

I didn't deal with it at all. But at 5 1/2 months - 6 1/2 months, we got slammed! DD was also sick off and on so that could have been it.

So far we're at 4.5 months and still no sleep regression. I'd go for the sleep training.

We are close to 5 months, and these past 3 weeks have been terrible. lO started rolling, so we took him out of the swaddle, the he decided to belly sleep (freaked me out, but then I got used to it and he's totally fine), and now he's been waking every 2 hours, sometimes more at night. He's never gone longer than 5 hours, but I miiiiiiiss those nights so much. I would give anything to be back at 10 weeks old when he would sleep very predictably - 4 -3-3-2. *yawn*. His naps are also a mess. He struggles to stay asleep through the end of the first sleep cycle (always wakes around 40 mins). I'm exhausted to say the least.

@mrswonderwoman: I feel your pain. My DS was sleeping 7-9 hour stretches at 3 months, only waking up once or maybe twice a night. Right at 4 months that all went away. The longest stretch he can do now is 3 hours. It's been almost a month so far. I'm hoping it won't last much longer!
