Can I make frozen yogurt without a ice cream machine?
I don't see why I can't just use a blender or food processor and puree it for a while? Sure, it won't be as smooth as a ice cream maker but it should get the job done, right?
Anyone try before?

I assume you want it to be smooth?
If not, and are just looking for a healthy treat, my SIL used to freeze the chocolate flavors and eat them out of the yogurt container.

@T.H.O.U.: yup, I just want a healthy treat for LO and I this summer. I'm thinking plain Greek yogurt mixed with fresh fruits in popsicle forms.

@locavore_mama: I would try to see what would happen if you just froze it in a glass bowl and then let it sit out to defrost a bit!
Also, have you seen that pinterest idea to freeze chunks of banana and then blend that up?

@locavore_mama: I have done it with plain Greek yogurt, but it is kinda a pain. You have to use a fairly shallow container so it freezes evenly and you have to stir it every 10-15 minutes or it just turns into a hard yogurt clump. It was good, but not something I would do all the time. You could do the soft serve thing with Greek yogurt and frozen banana slices or other frozen fruit. You get a good creamy consistency with that and you don't have to freeze the yogurt.

I just freeze the little containers of yogurt i have for about an hour and they get to be about the right texture
