For my niece's birthday this year I'm taking her shopping and lunch. Is there any where fun, different, an experience but still has good food? that's also near a shopping mall in Queens, LIC or LI? She's turning 13.

I remember when I was a preteen a teacher took me to Red Robin for my birthday and even after I ordered what I wanted she ordered me a strawberry heartthrob "because it's her birthday!" - it was like a virgin daiquiri and it came with a huge fruit garnish and a sword pick with cherries and it was so big and special and pretty! I would definitely order some big fancy drink or milkshake like that! And order some kind of fun appetizer - it's all the stuff your parents are too cheap to get you when you go out!
