We live about two hours away from the ILs and planned to drive to their house for Easter, just for the day. MIL came down with a stomach virus on Sat night and now one of SIL's kids has it. Assuming no one else catches it between now and then would you feel comfortable continuing with your plans to attend or would you want to reschedule for another day?

Mil is hosting? I would seriously consider skipping. I am not a germophobe but stomach bug germs last a long time and are super contagious. Plus will she even be up for hosting a week after? I feel like that lingers and she might feel pretty crappy all week.

Considering Easter is still 5 or so days away, you can probably go. I'm sure they will thoroughly clean the house.

I wouldn't be wild about going but considering Easter is still 5 days away I don't think I could get away with skipping. I try to make myself feel a little better about germ situations like this by reminding myself that I could easily pick up germs like this shopping at Target.
Eta: It would also depend on if it continues spreading through the family for the whole week or not. If someone is sick on Friday and still planning on being there I would probably skip.

I would be prepared to skip and make the final call on Thursday/Friday. It sort of depends on how long the sickness lasts. If everyone is symptom-free and feeling fine by Thursday, I would be comfortable going. But if someone is still sick at all on Friday, I would want to reschedule/skip.

I would skip, but I'm a germaphobe as well, and every time I did suck it up and agree to be around recently sick people, we all got it. Not worth it.

I would wait to make that call.
We had the stomach flu a few weeks ago, and I had a nasty case of it-I was on the couch for 5 days. 6 days after I originally got sick, my sister came up to help us with LO. 48 hours after she got home, she had it, too. However, she, DH, and LO only had the 24 hour version.
So, I would say that if no one else gets sick between now and Saturday, I would still go. Otherwise, I would ask them to come down or make the trip the following weekend.

We would go. It's a family thing and we would just be extra vigilant about washing hands.

I would only go if everyone was healthy + I was sure that the house was lysol-ed to death. Stomach bugs are aggressive and persistent!

@psw27: that's one of my concerns. I have no idea if they would clean as aggressively as I would. Not to mention everyone always kissing all over LO since he's the baby!

@jhd: I guess it's rude to bring your own lysol and lysol wipes and start cleaning things down! hahahahaha I don't blame you for being worried!
