We really did try putting our son in his bed (we have an arms reach cosleeper next to our bed) from day one, but he resisted it. Only sleeping 20 minutes at a time. We found in that first week the only way to get him to sleep for 2 hours at a time was by holding him. So my husband and I spent the first couple weeks of his life taking turns holding him through the night. At about 2-3 weeks old, I started taking him to bed with me for sanity's sake - it was the only way I was going to get some sleep. And by 4 weeks we had mastered nursing in bed which made life so much easier for both of us. He is 9.5 weeks now and my husband and I feel ready to have our bed back to ourselves. Or at least, have the option of switching between the two (because honestly, sometimes I really miss my baby!! and love sleeping with him!).

Does anyone have experience with transitioning a baby from cosleeping to his own bed? Any tips? Cause my son does not like it.
