My very best friend is going through a divorce and her birthday is next month. I’m trying to think of awesome gift ideas. What would you like if you were going through a rough time?

I would think something to do with self-care.
Something like a massage or mani-pedi?But this also depends on her personality. What does she need right now, perhaps a night out to go dancing and blow off steam? Or a night in to watch chick-flicks and drink wine? Or does she need to curl up with a good book and hot chocolate? Something totally different and take a cooking class?

Is she local?
If so, I'd do something with her and treat her instead of buying a physical gift.
My sister is going through a divorce and I know money is really tight. Having someone just take her out for hot chocolate has been a luxury. A meal or a pedicure is SUPER exciting.

I agree on something for self-care - nice bath salts, or a gift certificate for a spa, etc...

I would go out with her, whether its for a pedicure, drinks, dinner, movie, whatever. If she has kids, get a sitter for yours and hers, and take her out for some fun girl time.

I would like to go out for dinner and drinks - I think some time with a friend to chat and relax would be great.
