I am dropping by a shower for a coworker's grandson. It is the second baby and it's more of a meet and greet, but the invitation did indicate what sort of gifts would be appreciated. I have met her daughter and we get along fine.
How much would you spend? Would you buy a gift card or something else?

I usually do a pack of diapers and a pack of wipes, and maybe a small GC. If it's a good friend, I do a case of diapers and a case of wipes.

@Freckles: If I do a pack of diapers, then $10-20. If you do just a GC, $25-30? That's just what I usually do, anyways.

If it was a friend, $50+ but since she's more of an aquaintance I think $25 is sufficient.

Wow, I feel like a cheapskate-- for a 2nd baby "open house," I'd bring a $10 bottle of wine for the parents or a card with $10 in it for "the college fund." If it was a good friend, I'd toss in a pack of diapers or onesies.
