We've had our boy name picked out for years, but still haven't found a girl name we love. Our little list has names like: Norah, Isla, Ruby, Penny, Olive, etc. I think they're semi unique, but are growing in popularity. Can you list some other names with that "classic" feel? Maybe names you considered?

Evelyn? One of our faves, but we wanted something less popular.

Clara, Nina, Naomi, Lila, Eliza, Nico, Emme - we couldn't find a girl name we agreed on, good thing we didn't have to!

I liked Alva....Isis and Olivia. But. DH and I ultimately agreed that all our kids would have Arabic names.

Claire/Clara, Rose, Jeanne, Beatrice, Margot, Victoria, Emmeline, Sadie, Rebecca, Lucille, Cordelia, Wendy, Gwendolyn, Madeleine.

Those are all pretty names! My friend named her daughter Vera, which I think is classic but still a bit unusual.

I love all of those names! We didn't have many options when picking out LO's name, which is Rose. Before that I said Sadie and DH vetoed. I also like Beatrice with the nickname Bea, and he said no.

We're almost 100% certain our daughter will be named Rose Evelyn. We too wanted classical names but not too popular.

Cora, Clara, Nell. Those were our rejects. I still really love Cora. And I call Lorelei Laura-Cora all the time.

I love the name Lydia! In my head it is classic because I first heard it when I was reading "Pride and Prejudice" (my favorite book of ALL time). What about Elizabeth? I always try to go to my favorite books for inspirations.

My top three were Jane, Samantha, and Gwendolyn. Gwendolyn won!

Our Claire was almost Jane or Kathryn (Kate). @Mrs. Twine: I really love Cora too, but DH didn't. We also had Abigail (Abby), Emma, Emily, Lucy, and Evelyn (DH vetoed) on our list.

@TidyBee; Mr. T was actually on board with Cora and that was going to be her name, but it had negative associations for my mom's mother, so we decided not to at the last minute. I still really love the name even though we would never use it. I also loved Nell, but we realized someone might end up calling her "Nellie" and "Nellie and Ellie" sounds like something off of Hee Haw.
