I do a yearly girls trip with my college friends. We live all over the country and it has been a great way for us to stay connected. We do different things depending on where we go - plays, lots of eating, lots of hanging out at wherever we are staying. When we went to our college town a few years ago we basically just relived that time in our lives.

Just last night I to my local friend group that we do a weekend away in the spring. They seemed game so I am going to start planning it. I am thinking a low-key spa.

One of my college friend's husbands was feeling salty about our girls trips, so I told him he was free to go on a trip our husbands. So now my husband goes on yearly trips with some of the husbands of my college friends. I love it. They hike, go to movies, cook, etc. DH used to have an annual trip with his own college friends, but he hasn't been able to get them interested lately.

I'd like to say that I do annual girls trips but it doesn't always end up that way. I did get one this year with my core group and have talked about a few other with some other groups. However, I'll take some time with some of my girls and will do an overnight.

DH goes on a golf trip with my dad and brothers every year and they do golf! His best friends aren't local so I encourage him to go see them but he hasn't fully taken advantage of that.

We each go 1-3 times a year probably? This year he went for a guys weekend in feb, I went to a cottage with friends in April, he went on a fishing trip with his dad and brother in August, and km going next weekend away with some friends to shop.

We don’t regularly, but as the kids get older I would definitely like to do this more.

Absolutely! It is way more feasible for us to do a friend weekend while the other stays with the kids than for us to find someone to keep our kids overnight while we do something together. Also, I don’t live near any of my longtime best friends so if we didn’t do girls trips I would basically never see them.

Yes, we both do it.
I have 2 sets of friends that regularly do them so I usually go in 1-2 per year at a destination. And my best friend and I take turns visiting each other in our homes.
We usually shop, enjoy meals and beverages at the temperature they were meant to be enjoyed, spa, go to bed early and sleep in a little.

My husband does 1-2 per year as well. Sometimes for an occasion like a 40th bday. Other times it’s just a good friend of his and they hang out. I can’t be certain what they do exactly, but I know his weekends include a lot of beer and guy food. Sometimes he does VEGAS so also blackjack. Sports. Probably more nightlife than my girls trips include.

We both love those weekends! I don’t even mind when he goes because I enjoy the time alone with the kids and also to myself after they’re in bed. And I know when he goes it only justifies my trips even more! Haha.
