Ok, in my last post I mentioned needing a favor idea because my husband objects to the idea of having a party favor for children in a glass container. What do y'all think? Is this irresponsible?
Alternatives to a glass jar for bubble solution are also solicited! I don't really want to buy individual solutions because I already bought the giant tub of solution so I need to split it up.

My LO is 2 and I wouldn't like her having glass yet. What about collecting plastic soda/water bottles, especially those mini water bottles? I know you're not wanting plastic, but I think it's more kid appropriate. You can take the labels off and decorate them.

How about travel size toiletries containers at Target? Or small plastic containers at beauty supply stores?

I'm definitely not against plastic, but the party is this weekend so it doesn't leave me much time to collect anything, and don't really want to buy new.
Lol, half of the first birthday party favors on pinterest are reused baby food jars with candies stuck in....

Also, what about glass servingware, or ceramic? Like, using real plates instead of plastic or paper plates. We also have discussed this as well.
I guess I'm thinking, plastic didn't always exist, right? Before that point, people had to use other stuff?

I wouldn't do glass either. Could you just buy empty plastic containers? Like the travel shampoo bottles.

@Mrs. Sketchbook: LO (age 3) eats off of real plates and uses glass cups, so I'd have no problem with ceramic plates. I guess I'd only worry if you were using plates you really care about. A few of ours have broken, but I let him help me unload the dishwasher and carry food to the table, so I expect that to happen once and a while.
I think it's much easier to spill food off of a paper plate, even a fancy styrofoam one, than a real one.
As to glass bubble containers, I did this once and regretted it, but it was more because of the shape of the jar. Are your containers really narrow? The one I used was a small, but wider mouthed jar. That shape just doesn't really work for bubbles. The only jars that I think would work well for this would be the ones that capers come in.

Thanks to everyone for the input! Since I'm running low on time I decided to go in a different direction. I'll use the bubble stuff as an activity during the party and am just doing homemade playdoh as the party favor. I can just package that in some baggies and call it DONE! Cheap-o!
