Ok, I'm not sure if I'm asking for too much but are there any upholstered gliders that reclines and will still glide when reclined? Originally I was going to order a Best Storytime chair but I'm not sold.
I don't love the wooden Dutailier wooden gliders but they seem to offer this feature. I was hoping to stay under $1,000 but honestly if we can find something that checks all the boxes it may be worth spending a little more.

I have had a Best Chair for 3 years now and I love it so much. I can only rock when the footrest is down, but it was never an issue. Recline is key for us!!

I have a Monte Grano and it is awesome. I got the swivel gliding base, so when it is reclined it can't glide but it can swivel, if that makes sense? It is so so comfy!

@Mrs Green Grass: I have the Best chair as well, and I adore it. Seconding that while it can't glide while it's reclined I've never wished it could.

YES. we have a super comfy Best Chairs glider but gosh I wish it reclined. I don't care if it reclined and glided at the same time but so many nights of uncomfortable sleep..

Thank you that is helpful! I had been leaning towards the Best Benji but this being our first baby wasn't sure if both features together was possible.

I didn't think I wanted a wooden glider either, but once I sat in our Dutailier in the store I changed my mind! We got one of the Grand/XL ones, which are bigger and cushier, and bought online for ~$600? It reclines and glides, but I settled for a nursing stool instead of an ottoman since the extra cost wasn't worth it to me.

@peechykeen I do find the Dutailier wooden to be comfortable and it has the function I want but I just can't get over the design! I reached out to them to see if any of their upholstered gliders recline but I don't believe they do.

We have a Best chair that glides and reclines but not at the same time. I can't think of a time I would have wanted it to do both simultaneously. The recline is only used when we end up sleeping with her for some period of time. We use the glider feature daily. We've had it for a year and still love it.

We had a traditional glider for #1, which I liked. We just moved and the overstuffed, huge armed recliner we had in the living room has been moved to the nursery for #2 (due in April). I'm super excited about the option to totally recline with baby and it rocks just as well as the glider. I just need a cute ottoman and I'm good to go. Think something like this, only darker brown.

We have a rocking/reclining dutailier and love it. I didn't want one with our first kid, partly because of the design; but I am sooo happy with it and don't notice the looks anymore.

We have a Best Chair (Bodie maybe?) power recliner and it's amazing. Every once in a while I've wished that I could recline and rock, but it's not a big deal. I love how comfy the chair is, and the power feature to recline it is fantastic. I hate how recliners with the arm kind of spring open. The power recline slowly and smoothly opens so no disturbing baby. I think it was about $700.

We special ordered a Best glider/recliner & I love it. We were SO picky & compared features, upholstery, style & comfort of so many of them at a local furniture store. We were literally there ALL day. I don't recall having seen any that do both at the same time, but I highly recommend a chair that does do both. I use a little footstool while nursing & when gliding, & that has worked fine for us. Some styles had matching gliding ottomans, so that could give you the same feeling of gliding while reclining, maybe...

Just an update, I ended up ordering a Dutailier glider (http://www.giggle.com/nursery-decor/rockers-gliders/verona-glider/DUT10.html) from giggle and could not be happier. Yes it was expensive but it has almost all the features I wanted. It glides beautifully, has an excellent reputation and it locks in a semi-reclined position allowing for napping if needed. The baby isn't here yet but I am confident with this purchase and just wanted to circle back with an update. All too often I read posts and never know what the final decision was

@MACSUNSHINE: thanks for the update! We are looking at a Dutailier upholstered glider as well. We just got one of the wooden ones for downstairs second hand and I love it. I'll look into this model.
