I'll be 39 weeks and 6 days at Thanksgiving this year - yikes! Hopefully I won't be spending Thanksgiving in the hospital. DH and I usually host this holiday and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE doing it! This year will obviously be a bit different.

mmmm drooling at the thought of Thanksgiving. This year will definitely be different for us as we'll have an about 1 month old baby. This year is supposed to be DH's year to spend Thanksgiving w/ his fam, but I'm not sure how I feel driving a 1 month old an hour away on a super winding road to see his family. I mentioned it once and he didn't seem too happy about not going... so we'll see what happens.

I will be about 1 1/2-2 months post-baby so the holiday's are going to greatly affect me losing the baby weight! haha

Turkey, green bean casserole (MY FAV), creamy corn casserole, rolls, pie, the list goes on and on! I love huge spreads

I love Thanksgiving! And it being in October (Canada), the weather is always so crisp and cool and perfect. LOVE!

We don't have any family to celebrate with so sometimes we do nothing or we go out to eat. But I'll probably cook a small meal this year. Going out to eat is kind of depressing on Thanksgiving! I'll cook a small turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and pie since it's just the 3 of us.

What the what?! You don't do stuffing!!!!??? Stuffing is my favorite part of Thanksgiving!!

We always go to my friend's house. I'll be 39 weeks and 4 days on Thanksgiving this year (if I can keep this kid in there). So if I'm still preggy we will go to my friend's like normal and if baby is here we'll hang at home.

DH is hopeful that he'll have shot a turkey for Thanksgiving (I'm thinking of alternate plans).

@bree72: he has never shot a wild turkey before and I'm not sure if he's ever had it before; I'm not too worried he has pretty poor luck in hunting

I have no idea what Thanksgiving will bring this year -- my EDD is two days before the holiday, so we might just be dining on hospital turkey -- pretty sure it won't be organic or free range.

If we're home, my MIL has promised to deliver a full meal.

We almost always travel to my husband's side of the family for Thanksgiving. We don't like their food (rude I know but it's true, my husband gets food poisoning every time we visit - plus I'm a veg and they literally have nothing I can eat even if I wanted to) so we always have our own dinner after we come back. We always have turkey - we like the free range too, homemade gravy and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and a roasted vegetable dish with parsnips, carrots, onions, turnips, brussels. We always have stuffing - technically dressing 'cause we don't like to stuff the bird - and lots of desserts but there has to be pumpkin pie!

Last thanksgiving is when we announced that we were pregnant to our families, so I think thanksgiving will always have a special place in my heart!

Another Canadian here ... so we get the early thanksgiving. My favourites are glazed carrots, turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes! Oh and can't forget the pumpkin pie!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday... with Christmas following closely behind!!

Well, we usually had the norm - turkey, ham, rolls, stuffing, cranberries, and mashed potatoes, pie etc... BUT my family has totally had health reform this past year and now all of us eat crazy healthy.

So I think there may be a few tweaks... maybe paleo pumpkin pie? Sweet potatoes, GF dinner rolls etc.

I'm excited to see what we decide to make!

One year my grandma wanted to have a Sopranos themed Thanksgiving and all the food was Italian - it was SO great!!

i love eating, so of course i love thanksgiving. i always get up and do cinnamon rolls and watch the parade - it's my favorite part of the day! my grandma and aunt always do the cooking, so i usually just bring a dessert. i usually get a little bit of everything and eat way more than anyone ever should. this year i'll be in my third trimester, so at least i can say i'm eating for two.

as much as i love thanksgiving, i love black friday even more! my mom and i always get together after thanksgiving dinner and go through the sales papers and write out a plan of attack. then we go to bed super early and get up around 4am to start the day! we're so crazy about black friday.

I love thanksgiving so so so much! I could cry:) I want pumpkin pie now:)

@Rubies: we celebrate both canadian and american thanksgiving, but have entirely different food for each one. We eat cabbage rolls at canadian thanksgiving....what about you?

This made me LONG for the holidays to be here!! We switch off holidays, so Thanksgiving this year is with my parents. We brine a turkey the night before and have all the traditional yumminess. Man, I could use a Thanksgiving nap today!
