Gifting gold is buying a gold membership for another user. Most people do it anonymously.
I love having gold because that's where most photos are shared.

@Mommytotwois: Love gold! I like that you can make threads more private, by making them gold threads. It's nice to share photos of A, or private things and feel ok about it. There's so much more you can do too!

I also like the ability to limit viewing of even non-gold threads to logged-in members (I THINK this is only a gold feature?) and to send PMs!

I think I love the private wall feature most of all, too. I also like gold cause I can share things on here that I don't want people to surf the web and read about.
