Does anyone have gold plated jewelry? Specifically a ring or necklace? How has it held up? Can you redip gold plated rings or necklaces?

I would really like a set of alphabet stackable rings or disc pendants. But solid gold is just not in the budget right now.
Wondering if I'm better off just waiting until we can afford a solid gold set?
