Have you tried gpant diaper covers with the disposable liners? Dh and I are talking about trying them out- thoughts on them??

I love them--I only use disposable inserts if we need lots of rash cream and for airplane trips. I mostly use cloth inserts. The first month or two we only used the disposable inserts.
I think @mediagirl also uses them.

I LOVE gdiapers. I used to use cloth inserts when LO was EBF but now I use the flushables almost exclusively. She's almost 20 months and still in the medium size gpants. I'm hoping to potty train in the next few months so hopefully we won't ever have to purchase the large gpants.

We use gdiapers. We only use the disposable liners at Grandma's (cuz she's weird about it lol) or if we're running around a lot. Otherwise we use the cloth liners with the flushable sheet on top. It's silly when there's pee, but it's worth it for the poops. We like them a lot. My only complaint would be that she's grown out of the sizes before she hit the weight they say they're for. We're in Mediums at 5 mos and she's not a very big girl.

@sandy: Wow! How many lbs is your LO?? Mine is 5 months and about 15 lbs and grew out of smalls 3 weeks ago! I wish ours would last that long!

We use grovia which is similar to the gdiapers. The gdiapers are super cute though!!

@JerricaBenton: my LO grew out of size small super early too...before 6 months. She's been in size medium FOREVER...she was 23lbs at her 18 month appointment which is right around 75th percentile (so she's not a small child)...I think the size medium goes up to 28lbs. She's almost 20 months so I'm hoping she can wear them for a few more months.

@sandy: how is the cost of the disposable liners? My DH is a weary about using the cloth liners ( I will use them while I home and not at work)

@aprk: do you know what the difference between the two are? Can you use disposable liners in those as well?

@JerricaBenton: thanks for the size info and the flush able liner info!

We have used gDiapers with the disposable liners since LO was 1 week and I love them (he's now 2.5 years--not potty trained yet). When we lived in the US, I would flush them and we only had toilet clogging issues a handful of times...usually when we weren't paying close enough attention to how we flushed.
@sandy: @JerricaBenton: DS wore the newborn size until 8 weeks. Small until 4 months. Medium until 16 months (I think). Large until about 26 months and now he is in XL, but he can also still wear the larges without major disasters, so he is in both now since we only have a few XLs.
@cheert16: in the US I signed up for amazon mom and subscribe and save and I think each case (4 packs) was around $35-40 with free shipping. Not sure what the pricing is these days, but at the time it was WAY cheaper than diapers.com or the gDiapers site.

@cheert16: g inserts can be flushed. Grovia has regular organic cotton inserts or stay dry inserts, as well as disposable inserts. We love those and use them when we are without laundry facilities for a few days or staying in a hotel.
ETA: the reason we ended up not choosing g diapers was because I preferred snaps to aplix

@cheert16: I also do amazon mom and subscribe and save. For a while I was doing the promo codes off diapers.com but once those ran out i started using amazon (we have prime so free shipping). I get the 4 pack and it's about $50 once the tax is added in. A 4 pack lasts me about a month. I think the cost of flushables is comparable to disposable diapers but I know this we've had maybe 4-5 blowouts ever and my friends who use disposables have blowouts almost daily.

@cheert16: gDiapers were quite the learning curve for us. I couldn't get them to fit well. BUT we LOVE Grovias and they have both the cloth and the disposables as well. The disposables are also backed so the shells don't get wet.
We used the GDiaper Cloth in the Grovia shells most of the time.

@JerricaBenton: Don't worry! We grew out of smalls at 8 weeks and still in mediums at 13-almost-14 months.
I think he was in the newborn size for all of 2 weeks.
I almost wish we just started with the mediums!

@sandy: YES. We have had 3 blowouts--2 during small phase when we were still in the learning curce and when and 1 as a baby... that's TOTAL in over a year of gDiapers.

@pastemoo: yeah that's how my husband feels! We were going through so many diapers a day in tbe nb stage that we used a lot of disposables too and he felt like the nb gdiapers were a waste. Oh well! I can't believe how tiny they are looking at them now! Hopefully the mediums will last much longer!

@brownie: I looked into the grovia and they look pretty good- I like tr idea of snaps as opposed to Velcro - do you have the snap ones or Velcro?
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@pastemoo: ours were during the small phase too when LO had more explosive liquidy poo diapers from being EBF...only 2 have warranted an entire outfit change. My friends using disposables do 1-2 outfit changes a day for their infants

@cheert16: both and the Velcro is nice when they are tiny but the snaps are great after that. My 2 year old still can't take them off.

I used g pants and disposables, and I will be honest, I never had blowouts or what not with either system. Yes, it took me a little time to get the liner/insert correct with the g diapers and I did have to change more frequently with the cloth, but that's was it for my learning curve.

@cheert16: no, becayse i lived abroad and couldn't find them locally (and my husband about had a heart attack when I suggested having them shipped).
I had 24 cloth inserts and a set of 6 pants withthe plastic liner. Loved them.

@cheert16: if you are buying them all now, I would do snaps. If you are buying them separately get a couple Velcro and a bunch of snaps. Also there are resale groups on Facebook and I have had good luck with them.

@brownie: good to know!! I will have to look them up! Thanks for the info
