I'm planning on making my parents and in-laws calendars with baby pics of my LOs. My LOs are the only grand kids for my ILs so we're fine there. However, my parents got two new grandchildren yesterday!! So is it rude to put together a calendar of only my kids? Do I need to include my sister's twins too? What would you do?

I don't think it's rude to give them one of just your kids, but I think they'd probably appreciate one with all their grandkids a little bit more...that's what I would try to do if I could.

My brother does one of his family for everyone every year and it only has his kids.

I'd include all the grandkids, personally. Maybe you can make it a joint gift from both you and your DH and your sister and her DH.

@78h2o: @Mrs.KMM: Ok, as a follow up- they probably should have equal # of photos of each child, right? I have 6 months worth of pics of my twins and my sister's really were born yesterday! My sis isn't big into pictures (and is obviously busy thinking about other stuff at the moment!). I think I'll see them again at Thanksgiving though so maybe we can play dress up and take some pics in a few different outfits!

You could maybe get away with having a few more of yours just since they've been alive a lot longer to have more pictures. But I would makes sure to have enough of your sister's so that they don't feel like an afterthought. Some with all 4 grandkids would be awesome (and adorable!).

@twodoghouse: yeah, I don't think it has to be a 50/50 split, but maybe 60/40 would be good... or 40 your kids, 30 hers, and 30 both?? I think taking pics @ Thanksgiving sounds like fun. Is your sis getting any newborn pics taken?

There probably not many photos of your niece and nephew yet to put in the calendar. What if you include a photo of your parents holding them yesterday as Novembers photo?

For this year I would just do your own. I'm sure they can display photos of the other grandkids nearby as they grow and have more photos.

I would do what @Leialou suggested - that is brilliant! You could also have a group baby photo for December.

I like @Leialou's idea. Once my SIL gave my FIL a t shirt that said grandpa with all of the grandchildrens' names. Well I was pregnant with grandchild #9. We already knew it was a boy and his name. I thought it was rude and felt excluded.

My SIL puts a calendar together for MIL and asks us for photos of E to include...so yeah, I would ask for pics to include. I think it's rude to not include your niece and nephew. It's not like it has to be EVERY page, but I would include them!

I would include some but not worry about it being 50/50. I think even 25/75 would be ok.
@Mamasig: my dad got my mom a sweatshirt with her two grandchildren on it when I was pregnant. But he didn't know I was pregnant yet and it was too early to know the sex much less name anyway. I thought it was funny that it was immediately out of date though.

How about askingyour sister what she thinks? I had a early Nov baby and would have been too overwhelmed to try to deal with taking good pictures (where everyone looked good) until 6 or 7 weeks in, other than our newborn shoot, and I can't imagine it with twins. She may be fine with being left out this year or may want to do mini shoot with you like PP suggested.

I've totally made a calendar with just my son and not my nephew for my MIL (before LO2 was born). In the future I would still do the same thing.

@mrs.shinerbock: Ok, good idea! I'll see what she says! I did take some pics on her real camera when I visited yesterday, plus she'll have NB pics we can hopefully get in time. I'll see if she has the energy to take any other nice pictures and go from there!

I would include all the grandkids just because I feel like my parents would want to show off/use just 1 photo-calendar, and my sis and I are very close so getting pics to use would be easy. If difficult, I would at least include them in their birth month or use a group shot as a cover pic or something.
But, I def don't think it's rude of you to just do your kids' pics if you go that way. Plus, newborns look so funny and it's already November, heheh.
