I am planning to slowly start purchasing some Green Mountain Diapers fitteds for our baby who is due October 1st. I have heard really good things about them, and like that they are natural fibers. We are planning on using wool covers.
My question is whether to get the fitteds with snaps or without. Snaps seem like they would be easier (especially for DH and grandparents/sitters), but I have heard that using the ones without snaps with a snappi gives a better fit. Any experience or advice??

I think maybe get some of each? I had the snaps and I liked them for newborn stage! I didn’t have them for larger sizes but I don’t think you can go wrong with GMD!

We use Bumgenius elementals, and I love the snaps. This is our third year using the same set with two different babies, and we've never had a snap break or had a problem with fit.

I loved their fitteds and I did not buy the snaps because I'm super cheap. I felt like I got a good fit with snappis and they were easy to use without snaps. I agree with MRSBUBBLETEA that it might be a good idea to buy a couple of both and give them a try. Cloth diaper fit is really such a personal thing.

We strongly prefer snaps. I hate snappis and normally don't bother with them on my snapless (I just close the cover.
Both work well for all sizes. I use them under a thirties cover and love them. I'm sure you will too!

After reading everything, I think I am going to start ordering some newborn and small sizes with snaps. I will get one or two snapless in both sizes just in case we end up liking those better, and we can make a decision when it's time to go to size medium. Thank you all for the advice!

I bought snapless, but I wish I got snaps. Turns out I didn’t want to deal with the snappi, especially at night, and my husband didn’t even know how to use it. I ended up just putting the cover over it without closing the fitted.

I have a couple of their diapers and get the snaps, way easier to use for daycare, husbands, etc. I've never had an issue with fit. I ordered half a dozen newborn ones to use with the baby I'm having in August and did all snaps with those as well.

I bought some just for overnight use, and bought two of each. Beause we used pockets w/ snaps during the day, the snaps made the most sense for us. We did like that the no snaps allowed for a more customer fit, but overall it didn't end up being that important for us.

@Iced Tea: you can buy a pair of snap pliers on Amazon for like $15 and add snaps to your existing diapers!

@greencraftycello: if you haven't already ordered, I recommend adding 3-4 XL prefolds. They make the best changing pads. I use them all of the time.
