We just made cards and/or breakfast or something like that.

ETA: you've got to give the american marketing industrial complex props for getting all of us to treat every holiday like a major holiday, though!

Yep! We always made him a card. I still get my Dad something for Father's Day! Just cause I am an adult doesn't mean he isn't my Dad anymore. He still does a lot for DH and I through out the year.

We always got him a tie or new socks I remember being really excited to pick it out

In school we always made Mother's Day and Father's Day presents...other than that? No

I agree with @Anagram: it's amazing how much pressure I feel now that I see every holiday shoved in my face. I even started sending my grandma a card on grandparent's day.

@mrbee: We've had several threads here on HB (that I have also participated in) about what we're getting our SOs for Father's Day, what we're getting our dad's for Father's day, etc. And the threads started a month ago. Many of the answers (including my own) are way about the price range of a card and breakfast, so yeah--I think it's become a major holiday.

It seems like now we have:

Christmas: $$$$$$$
Anniversaries: $$$
Birthdays: $$$
Valentines Day: $$$
Easter: $$ (or more. I had friends give kids presents like bikes)
Halloween: $$ (or more. Lots of $150 costumes)
Mother's day (purses, spa days, jewelry): $$$
Father's day (tickets to sporting events, electronics): $$$

Thanksgiving (food, travel, decor): $$$$
4th of July (LO clothes, food, travel, decor): $$$

Pi day: $

I'm just a grinch and think it gets to be a bit much. =) But I still get psychologically swayed to do it!

I didn't grow up living with my dad, so I usually just sent him a card.
