We've held off on something similar because they're quite pricey and there's another place where we can just do open gym when we want. We stick with a music class and sometimes library storytimes. There are other things like a zoo program where you can just pay when you want to go, too.

I looked into it but was blown away by the pricing in our area. Almost as much as our cable bill monthly! I just couldn't.

We haven't done anything but our local libraries (I use local loosely, most of my state is "local" to us, lol) have some great free story times and play groups.

We do My Gym and LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! The two teachers are super heros in my house At first I didn't think much about the classes, but then DS kept talking about it (he's 19 months old and we started when he was 12 months old). I am actually surprised at how much he has learned, body parts, counting, waiting turns, sharing, etc. DD is in her age appropriate class (she's 3.5 years old) and she started learning left from right!

We are happy with ours and in terms of price I think it is pretty standard to pay about $20 a class for where we live, which is about what we pay.

We did Gymboree from about 6-11 months... it's $72/month where we're at! It was semi-worth it to us when she was in Level 2 classes, because we could go several times a week. Once she "aged out" and went to Level 3, it was only once a week and not worth it.

I think that the classes are probably fun because we tried something similar (My Gym) but it wasn't worth the money to me. There are other free activities in our area that we love just as much! We do library storytime and there's also a Mother Goose activity time at a local bookstore that we go to for free. I've heard about an enrichment program that has baby/toddler activities for free as well but we haven't tried it yet.

We started when LO turned 13 months and was walking very well on his own. I don't think it would have been worth it for us before he started walking. He really enjoys the class because of the extra activities (parachute, singing, music, bubbles) but I mainly signed up because we take advantage of the open gym times at least once or twice a week. If they didn't have free open gym, I'm not sure I could have justified the cost. But it gives us something to do in the afternoons, and I credit him learning how to climb down the stairs due to practicing in Gymboree all the time. He also does swim lessons with my husband and I honestly think he gets more out of Gymboree at this age, but that may change as he gets older.
