I like some of it. I don't like the characters, but they have some really sweet pieces I love and put L in again and again.
@littlek: It's actually the same company as J&J. It's the Gap to J&J's Banana.

DS has a few things from there, but generally its a little too cutesy and expensive for me.

We've gotten some cute stuff there!
I was sad when my LO grew out of this Gymboree penguin suit!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I like some of it (the not overly printy stuff). It's the same parent company as Janie and Jack so good quality. A lot of LOs infant stuff was from there! (3-6 mos)

I like it. I usually shop there when they have their big sale and with a coupon, but I usually shop at carters, target and khols.
nectarine / 2274 posts
The quality of their onesies are great however I hate their designs. I rarely buy their clothes.

i never looked at their stuff because i always equated it with being on point with OKBO (which actually has some cute stuff!) but i checked it out since you all said it was pricey and i had NO idea! there are some cute things, but i didn't know it was GAP pricing on sale! yeeps.

@78h2o: Hah, my mom snatched up most of this line for DD, recently. It's a pretty cute line, and not too obnoxious. The cord pants are my favorite. Alas, she's still way too teeny to fit in them.

@78h2o: That swimsuit is so cute!
It's true the grandmas and aunties LOVE the super-coordinated outfits from Gymbo.

Wow I didn't know so many people hated it! I love their stuff.
I have a few dresses from there that I bought on sale. Once a year they have their "everything in the store is $12.99 or less" sale and I buy dresses at that time since that is the most expensive thing!
I love all of the cute characters they use... Looks like I am in the minority! Quality wise I can tell its a little less than J&J but I think it holds up well.

Cute, but too expensive for me. I also refuse to shop at J&J because of the cost.

I've been able to find really cute things for both baby boys and girls at Gymboree so it's a Yay for me. The sales prices are such good deals.

We've owned tons of Gymboree. I like their older lined better, the recent last couple years haven't impressed me too much, they're overly loud. Overall, I love it. I'm a total addict. But then again, I love "cutesy" stuff. I don't think there's anything wrong with dressing your baby like a baby.
The clothes are good quality and hold up well though. Like with any other brand, you just have to pick and choose.
Totally going to picture spam now. haha

I have no opinion on Gymboree, but @loveisstrange: your pics are adorable! That red dress is awesome. @LemonLong: Yours too! I love the penguin suit.

It's a little matchy matchy for me. It's great no brainer type clothes because they have different themed lines for boys and girls, meaning they might have a "bear" line and a "sports" line for boys and a "ballerina" line and "flowers" line for girls. So it makes putting outfits together so easy because everything within a line is meant to match. But like others have said, it's a bit too cutesy for my taste. We have goteen a few things there though! And my sister has gotten some pretty dresses for my niece.

I bought a ton of stuff there last winter for spring/summer. I paid something like $3 a piece for pique polos and madras shorts.
I kind of view my son's clothes as disposable at the moment, he comes home with random stains I just can't get out!

@looch: Same. I don't want to spend a lot of money at this age because he's very messy. Plus my husband tells me I am not allowed to spend a lot of money.

@LemonLong: Adorable!!!
@loveisstrange: She is sooo cute! I like cutesy stuff too. Not a fan of loud colors though. The stuff your LO is wearing is adorable!

I have gotten a few things there, but most of the lines run a little too cutesy for me, but I like to check it out because the clothes do hold up well!

@shopaholic: thanks. I think they still have that swimsuit, but only in small sizes.
@loveisstrange: adorable pics! love the outfit she's wearing in the car, also the outfit with the cat and the Christmas dress! So cute!
@LemonLong: awwww!
@deerylou: oooh, I'm jealous! I really like that line. (I think partly because my name is Robin and my grandmother used to always buy me bird-themed things).

I've gotten a few things there on sale, and I for one love the plaid shorts and button downs. I do find it annoying that you can't get plain pants there. I bought D a pair of brown shorts, only to get them home and realize there's a hippo on the pocket. So I can't really pair that with something else.
bananas / 9973 posts
@loveisstrange: ahhh! C is so cute! We have some of the Venice collection items she has too!
@littlek: FWIW, I think the collections are rest for traveling and extended day trips. Since everything is easily mix and matchable. No need to change a whole outfit when an accident occurs or weather changes!
pomegranate / 3008 posts
We buy C's swimsuits there when they go on sale and I buy t-shirts sometimes from the outlet but that is about it. Other than that I stick with Carter's / Osh K'Osh B'Gosh.

I am surprised so many people didn't like Gymboree! I like their stuff for they are thick and feel like they are of high quality (compare to Carter's). I shop their on-sale stuff only (their regular priced items are expensive!) and I do agree the selection is limited, but I do find pretty good things. And at check-out they always lower the price to something super cheap (they have a certain % off for your entire purchase deal usually). Again I love their quality.
Maybe it's because I have a boy?
I shop at Carter's a lot, but it feels that everyone has the same clothes because everyone shops at Carter's (not to mention they recycle their styles year after year). I like Gymboree because we tend to be able to be unique I like Gap as well.
ETA I hate shopping for clothes at baby's r us. Unless you shop for the full price expensive brands, their sale stuff is horrible.

I totally agree with @Pink Champagne: on the boy stuff. Not a fan. I think some of the girls lines are really cute, though.

@MrsF: I love Gymboree! I would be more than willing to trade that gift card you have! How much is it worth? I have a target one!
Gymboree is my favorite by far! Its so expensive, but by shopping garage/ consignment sales, I've gotten alot for pretty decent pricing!
squash / 13199 posts
I like them but they are overpriced. I received a $100 gift card for their store and was suprised how little I could get for it even with my coupons
blogger / persimmon / 1220 posts
All our Gymboree clothes were gifted, mostly 0 - 12 mo. clothes.
I'm not a total fan of the style, especially for the high prices.
I usually shop at Target, H&M, and Old Navy for LO's clothes.
grapefruit / 4235 posts
I really like their boy's button-downs but agree about their pants! I only buy their clothes on sale. I'm more of a gap fan myself. They do have really cute girls' dresses though.
