Did they tell you what caused the infection? Glad you're doing well now - hope it heals quickly!

Does getting my wisdom teeth out count as surgery? Other than that, haven't really had one!

I have had my wisdom teeth surgically removed because they were all impacted and a c-section.

I had my wisdom teeth out. I must be sensitive to anesthesia or something because it was the worst moment of my life. I fell asleep crying and woke up crying. And 2 hours later I somehow escaped from my house and got lost. I was at Arby's like 3 blocks away and I don't remember getting there!

I underwent surgery when I was 22 to remove fibroadenomas from both my boobs. It was a day surgery, so I was discharged the same day. I actually was really into the experience because I was on the flip side for once, as I was a nursing student at the time! Was sort of neat to experience being a patient.

In nurse practitioner school, I did a few in-office procedures on patients... I removed a few moles and drained a boil!

I had a cyst removed from my foot and a hemangioma removed from my chest. I also had a csection.

I had 2 D&C's and one Occipital Nerve Stimulator Implanted. The D&C's were nothing...... more emotional pain then physical. But the ONS sucked.

Wisdom teeth, appendix (followed by a collapsed lung, that was fun), RnY.

I had a spinal fusion to correct scoliosis when I was 14. That was a 12 hour surgery with a week in the hospital after. Definitely the biggest! Other than that, a fibroid adenoma removed from my breast last year and my wisdom teeth a couple years ago.

- lasik/laser eye correction
- wisdom teeth
- multiple ingrown toenails (I agree, the numbing part is the very very painful)

@bluestriped bee: Gosh - now I feel like I've had a lot! :))) I've had my tonsils, my widsom teeth, a breast reduction and a lap. I'm glad this is your only 'surgery' so far - hopefully it stays that way!!

@anonysquire: when I woke up from the anesthesia after having my wisdom teeth out I starting crying and having a panic attack. I don't remember much of it. Apparently it scared my DH and the nurse told him that women tend to freak out when they wake up and men get violent.

I've had my tonsils and adenoids removed, wisdom teeth, and a few moles removed.

I had an ear piercing get super infected and had to get it lanced and drained-- on my birthday! It sucked, but more so the gross and unpleasant factor than actual pain.

I had my wisdom teeth out 2 years ago and also didn't react well to the anesthesia. Apparently I woke up TWICE during the surgery, but don't remember (thank god) and when I did wake up at the end, I just kept pointing to the chair where DH had been sitting when I went under until he came back. I think I cried too, but at least I didn't escape to Arby's, I guess!

I also had Lasik, and the worst part was being awake for it. So scary-- like sky diving scary-- but then I was SO happy I did it.

DH has had so many real surgeries and laughs at me for thinking these are.

@MrsBrewer: I was about 2 weeks post-op I had gotten the all clear to go back to work. I probably over did it that day with laughing, talking, catching up with co-workers. Right after lunch, I was just gushing blood from my mouth and it wouldnt stop so i drove to the ER, Hubs (BF at the time) met me there and by the time i sat in triage and met with a doc the bleeding stopped so they sent me home to rest for another 4 days. it was awful!
