What brand hair clips do you recommend for little girls with fine hair? DD's bangs are getting in her eyes a lot, but her hair is only just barely long enough for a little ponytail or pigtails and she isn't a big fan of the rubber bands. Are there clips that will keep her bangs out of her eyes and stay put?

We've tried the little bows, but she pulls them out. She pulls off any headband.
The only thing that's worked are those teeny tiny rubberbands, and she gets one (or two if I'm being fancy, haha) smack dab in the front middle of her head. If I wind it around about 5 times, she can't pull it out.

@shabang: DD cries when we remove the tiny rubber bands, even if we cut them. Do they get used to them?

We have the same problem and use these. She leaves them in pretty well!

I have super fine, thin, slippery hair. I have the best luck with tiny claw clips that have a rubberized grippy surface inside them. I just pick them up in CVS or the supermarket -- nothing fancy.

Mine doesn't cry when we remove them, but after that they are too stretched out to use again.
I cannot wait for her hair to grow out enough!

@PawPrints: Same... DD1 has started whining about those supposedly ouchless ones; they def are NOT ouchless when we pull them off! I need to find better rubberband options that are small; she keeps losing hair clips!

The only thing that works for us is to tie it back with a small hair tie then out a clip overtop

@Mrs. Lion: They don't make her cry? Yesterday DD's daycare teacher put pigtails in, and removing two rubber bands was horrible. I was using fingernail scissors to cut them, too.

@PawPrints: hmm...my lol doesn't love having them taken out but doesn't cry. Mostly she just doesn't want to sit still. If you are using clippers it shouldn't hurt, unless maybe her hair is really sensitive?

@PawPrints: rubber bands didn't work for us either because they would tangle in his hair when trying to get them out
the lined alligator clips were the easiest to put in and take out without pain!

My LO has a ton of really fine hair down past her shoulder blades. She's 2. She hates stuff in her hair. The only thing that I have found to hold realllllly well are the tiny clear elastics. I've found it best to try to pull the hair out from the elastic vs trying to pull the elastic out of her hair. I pull a couple of big chunks out from just behind the band, and then I can work the band out easier.

@PawPrints: I would say yes. My DDs have been blessed with an abundance of hair. They both fuss periodically, but I think they adjust to the pulling.

What about brushes? Dd hates me combing but she wakes up with a crazy mat almost every morning. I made some detangler spray that works but I wish I could just brush and not bother with the spray. When I was little my mom used Mason Pearson brush but they are seriously $100!!!

@Mrs. Pajamas: I've heard Wet Brushes work great but I haven't picked one up myself. So far DD tolerates the comb ok. She gets crazy matted hair from her car seat so I take a comb everywhere.

Well I didn't feel like waiting for shipping so I bought some at Target, kind of like these (but much cuter and way less garish):
