I love both... but since having kids, Halloween has become more special (b/c of trick or treating) while Christmas has yet to kick in (the kids are too young to really understand Christmas).
So for now, Imma go with Halloween.

Currently Christmas because I love getting together with family and all the good food and all the Christmas decorations and lights!
But I'm definitely looking forward to dressing up Xander for Halloween, even though he'll be too young to really get it!

Halloween! I wish we got more trick or treaters in our neighborhood. We've gotten a total of 2 kids to come by the past 5 years that we've live here. Real sad.

Hands down Christmas!!! There is so much excitement leading up to it. I LOVE coming home to a dark house with the Christmas tree lights on. So pretty!

The only thing that Halloween does for me is the yummy candy. This year, I have GD, so I can't even enjoy that

That's hard, because Halloween is smack in the middle of my favorite season, which gives it an extra bump.
But I think I have to say Christmas. E isn't old enough to appreciate it yet, but I am. I love Christmas. I love the whole month starting with Thanksgiving. I love being around our family, and enjoying how excited our older nephews (ages 6-9) are about it.

Halloween. Besides dressing up and fun spooky (not creepy gorey) decorations, there's no familial obligations. Not to say we don't love our families - we do! - but it's just pressure free. No rushing around to get to other people's houses, dinner/supper, pose for pictures, etc. It's just more lighthearted and fun.

@LuLu Mom: I'm with you! I love Christmas! I also do love Halloween, though. It's my mom's birthday, so it's always been an extra special & fun holiday in my family! Once we have little ones, I think it will be even more special to celebrate her birthday and Halloween together!

Christmas, always always Christmas. I have to REALLY refrain from thinking about it too much because I know it's too early but I get the warm and fuzzies when I see Christmas stuff coming out in stores (like they are now). And, I really love Christmas music. Can't wait until I can start playing it non-stop.

Christmas wins by a long shot. I love Christas. i like the decorating, cooking, lights and all of the excitement that leads up to the big day.
Halloween is meh for me & has been for a looooooonnnggg time.

Hmm, I'm kind of on the fence about both of them. Halloween is so much more fun now that we have an LO. It's also not too long after our wedding anniversary. With Christmas, we got engaged on Christmas, so it's special to me in that way too. I really like Easter the best.

Christmas! We're not huge Halloween people, though.
However, the debate in our household is Thanksgiving vs. Christmas. I LOVE Thanksgiving.
Because Thanksgiving in Canada is in October (next weekend!) the weather is PERFECTLY autumny, crisp temps but not too cold...LOVE.

Despite loving fall, I am just not big on Halloween. Christmas definitely wins for me - time off work to spend as a family, presents, awesome meals plus candy and baking, fun decorations everywhere, etc. Plus I'm a huge wimp who hates gore and scary things. So compare those Christmas things to gory/scary decorations, costumes, and movies everywhere, being obligated to go to my MIL's stupid Halloween party that she tries to get us all to dress up for despite the fact that we are adults and all the kids are way too young to give a crap, rushing home from work to pass out stuff, and cheap candy that I could just buy myself at the grocery store...meh.
I guess I just see Halloween as a kid holiday. There's a few years it's really fun when you're a kid, then when you're a parent there's a few years when your kid is old enough to be excited about it and go trick or treating, but not too old that they don't want you tagging along. But for the large majority of your life neither of those things are going on, so I just don't get the excitement.

We are not huge Halloween fans. It's OK, but I think it's more for kids (and amateur drinkers and an excuse for women to dress slutty a la Mean Girls...) Christmas all the way.

Christmas!!! The family get-togethers, Christmas lights, music, trees, special ornaments, wreaths, stockings, fires in fireplaces, baking, cider, cocoa, possibility of snow, snuggling under blankets, warm sweaters, Christmas PJs, and of course for our family the religious celebration behind it, are all so wonderful and cozy. I will say, as a kid of divorce, I used to hate it because it meant spending Christmas in the car, shuffling from house to house, eating multiple dinners so as not to offend anyone. DH is also from divorce and had the same experience, so we decided our kids wouldn't participate in the "shuffle" and grandparents could come to us and get along. Now that DH and I have our own family and have set firm boundaries that Christmas means staying put and enjoying the day- it's the best!

Neither really. I only like christmas because I get days off and get to spend time with family but the whole buying presents, santa claus and xmas tree really confuses me. I dont understand the point of it, or how its related to the birth of christ, Also since Jesus was really born on december 25th is just a bit of a confusing time for christian kids.

Christmas because it lasts longer. You get to decorate, listen to music, drive around looking at lights, visit with family, eat cookies, etc. I like Halloween, but it's more of a one day thing for us.

Halloween because it's no stress, just fun if you want to do anything. Christmas ideally would be nicer, but our families aren't your typical holiday movie, it's more chaos and buffets with crowds of people... Maybe now with a LO, it will be more special as we create our own traditions!
