Do H&M baby/toddler dresses run big? LO is currently just moving into 18-24 months in Gap and Carter's stuff. Do you think she'd need 12-18 months in H&M dresses? Thanks!

I think it runs pretty true to size, but here they put the sizing in centimeters, so I usually go by that. Occasionally they have odd pieces that can run really big or small though.

LO 2 is almost 2 and she wears some 2-4 size dresses from H&M. Mostly hand me downs so I'm sure they shrunk a little.
She also has some newer dresses in the 1 1/2-2 size. Sizing is really weird there....I think 12-18-will work for some dresses for your LO!

@autumnlove: I think you own one of the dresses I'm looking at...this one? Do you remember how that one runs?

I don't know about dresses obviously, but I have found that their pants run SUPER long for DS. In general I thought their sizes ran big (although not always) but dresses are easier than pants because they can still fit and just be a little longer or shorter...

I find H&M run crazy big. I always get at least a size below for my LO. She is very slender, but she is tall and does much better in the smaller sizes.

@travelgirl1: I ended up getting 12-18 months. I will return them if they're too small, but my LO is thin also so I think it'll be the right size.

@travellingbee: Their pants are HUGE! D is 26m and still wearing 9-12m pants. The 12-18m ones I have are still WAY too long - like if I roll them up, the cuff is 3"!!!

@lawbee11: Last summer, I remember buying my then 20-month-old dungarees in size 9 months and they fit great She might still be able to wear them this year.

My experience with H&M sizing has been that everything up to 1-1 1/2 runs really large. And then in toddler size runs pretty TTS.
DS who has always been on the bigger size was always wearing smaller sizes in H&M. But the toddler sizes fit him pretty spot on... he wore 1-1 1/2 last summer and the 2-4 size fits him for this year.

Their skater tank dresses do run big so I think 12-18m is a safe bet, especially if your LO is smaller.

I feel like they run pretty big, but the dresses like the strawberry one above, seem to SHRINK a lot in the wash. Do you want that strawberry one? I'm going to sell a bunch of those style 1 1/2-2 size since they are kind of short on K now.

It runs HUGE!!! DD was a year old last year, wearing 12-18 mo in all her other clothes, and wore a 3-6 month H&M dress. She's in the 75% percentile for height and weight!

I think the sleeveless stuff runs pretty true to size but I've found that at least their long sleeve stuff runs large.

@travellingbee: their pants are huge! My LO is 13 months and I ordered him 9-12 months pants for my MILs wedding. I ended up exchanging twice to end up with a 4-6mo. My guy is little but not that small! It was ridiculous.

@CRGmama: haha a! That's crazy! I know, my DS has always been in the 90th percentile in height too!
