M has ONE sore on his hand. The sore does appear to look like the sores that go with HFM but he only has the one. He also doesn't appear to feel crummy or have had a fever. Any thoughts?

When my toddler had it she was MISERABLE has heck. In so much pain and definitely sick. I think that if it is HFM, he'd exhibit more symptoms.

One bump is tough. It could be that he bumped into something that was pointy... held a toy the wrong way ... again has to pointy.
Or it could be a mild case of hives, did he eat or interact with anything new today?
I have hives... whenever I'm near cats or someone that has been playing with cats I'll break out... I can also get hives from food... I have had one hive before when I ate something that has a little bit of something I shouldn't eat.

@Raindrop: hm, we have started pears and squash. Doing both at once was an accident and miscommunication between us and our nanny. It also looks like his finger nail could have digged in there so maybe its just that.

Just came back from the ped's office and my LO has HFMD. The fever and diarrhea has been a bigger symptom than the spots. So hopefully you're in the clear.
