When Xander had HFM, he only had it on his hands and feet. He had nothing around his mouth and nothing in his throat (we were lucky!). Keep an eye on it though because it takes a few days to really get going, so the blisters may not have fully shown up everywhere yet.

Yes!! Several of the other kids we are regularly around got it very badly on the hands, feet, and mouth. However my LO only had blisters on her feet. Thank goodness. They healed up pretty quickly but are still peeling. She honestly never really seemed too bothered by it!

ETA: She had the diaper rash in the few days preceding the blisters. I originally thought it was a heat rash.

@travellingbee: Did you figure out if it was HFM? How's he feeling now?

We are at the beginning of almost exactly the situation you described. A mild fever last week, and now a weird diaper rash that started creeping down her thighs and a few red blister-y spots on her feet and a couple on one of her hands. We're taking her to the pediatrician later today but the nurse on the phone said it sounded like HFM.
