So it's fall, we're all tired, DS is in daycare all day with other germ-infested kids... put this all together, and it's pretty common for me and/or DH and/or LO to be "a little bit sick" a lot of the time. Not stay-home-from-work or even running-a-fever sick, but slightly on the snotty-nosed, scratchy-throat, feeling-tired side.
I wouldn't hesitate to hang out with anyone whose immune system is functioning at full strength, but several of our friends are pregnant or have small kids (age range 2.5 months - 3 years), and I'm never sure when we should bow out of group activities to make sure we don't spread whatever germs we have.
Clearly, if we're SICK sick, we stay home, but it's this kind of in-between phase that I'm never sure how to handle. We have plans with friends tonight, and while DS and LO are fine, I'm a little stuffed up and have scratchy-throaty-sex-phone-operator-voice, and am thinking that maybe I should send them without me.
I know I can ask our friends, but I'm interested in other opinions too (and also I worry that they'd say "oh it's fine" even if they didn't mean it!). What's your threshold for quarantining yourself or your family?
