DD is a little over a week old and I just found a lump in her breasts. She has an appt tomorrow early in the morning but I had to google it for peace of mind. They said it's totally normal in girls and boys. She doesn't seem bother by it at all. Anyone else have experience with this?

@bubblegum: yep. With our first daughter, our ped pointed it out to me at her first well visit so I wouldn't be alarmed when I found it myself. I think it's residual mom hormones but I could have made that up

@Madison43: that's exactly what I found online. I did call them just to be sure (waiting on a call back) but I'm glad to hear it's nothing to worry about.

My older daughter had the same exact thing. It went away on its own, not at all concerning. I think it was hormones like @Madison43: said

Yup, my newborn had them a month ago and they got bigger for a week or so but the. Disappated. My ped said it was normal and not to worry. They didn't seem to bug her at all.

Totally normal! My daughter had two hard lumps and they went away and then she got a lump again under one breast around 6 months that didn't go away until she was a year old and they said that was fine too. They feel it and know what feels and looks abnormal. The newborn ones are really common though.

Yep! Totally normal and actually something we use in babies who have unsure dates as part of our maturity/gestational assessment. Sometimes their little nipples will even have a milky discharge!
