I have all tile currently but based on past and current experience: 1. I loved hardwood in the kitchen, didn't have to worry about grout 2: I would still have some carpet...right now my LO is trying to crawl and what I would give to have carpet in our bedrooms & family room, you can only have so many rugs!

Gahh..I'm kind of jealous. Good luck moving!

hardwood X1000. kids are dirty, carpet is gross.

ETA my LO has had zero issues crawling or walking on hardwoods -- I wish it slowed him down! I do put robeez on him in the house to prevent slips.

Hardwood in the main living area...stairs and hallway as well. we only have carpet in the bedrooms. We LOVE the set up

I puffy heart the hardwood in our kitchen. It's so much warmer and nicer than the tile we had in other places. Eventually we will be putting hardwood in our living room and hallway. We might be leaving the carpet in the bedrooms, but in a perfect world it would all be hardwood.

Is putting hardwood on the 2nd floor and carpet an option? I would do that and remove carpet when LOs gets older. For kitchen I love the look of hardwood floor but then I would go tile because of potential for messes with LOs. You can get a very thin grout line with rectified edge.

We have hardwood on the main floor and I love it. DS learned to crawl on it no problem and it isn't slowing him down. We have carpet on the stairs and upstairs in the bedrooms.

I like carpet in the bedrooms as it is warmer on the toes in the morning. I don't like hardwood on stairs as it makes it so easy to fall, which is scary when you are carrying a LO.

We have a rental with hardwood floors in all of the apartment except the bedrooms (carpet) and the bathrooms (tile). When we buy we'll have hardwood throughout except for the bathroom and laundry as my husband and daughter both have dust mite allergies.

I love hardwood floors with a LO in terms of cleaning. The only downside has been during the crawling and cruising (and no doubt learning to walk) phases - she faceplants all. the. time. on the floorboards. *sigh*

We have carpet in the kids bedroom - ours is hardwood.

Downstairs we have tile and hardwood. Playroom is carpet and I want to pull it out!

Stairs are carpet - was nice when kids were little (easy to climb and no slipping on hardwood) but now that they are older I want hardwood there too!!
