I haven't seen anything about Girl Scout cookies directly OR indirectly yet this year!

I have never been approached directly by a girl scout. They're not conveniently located at stores that I shop at, so I usually have to go out of my way to find them. It would be nice to be approached by one and hear them sell their pitch.

I think we still have another few weeks until the local Girl Scouts are at our stores. I checked online.

Yes, we had a pair of girls (maybe sisters?) and a mom come to our door this weekend. We saw them 2 more times around the neighborhood so they must have been out a long time

I've never in my life been approached by a Girl Scout but I manage to get cookies almost every year. Maybe it's more of a suburban thing?

I have seen the cookies sold outside of the grocery store, but not a single Girl Scout has approached me. I wish one of the young ladies would speak up!

Back in my day we went door to door selling our cookies that would be so convenient right about now with the weather being so cold!

I've only been approached by coworkers who have not brought their kids in to sell the cookies. I am not sure if the ice/snow delayed them from selling at the grocery stores.

My neighbors' daughter stopped by a week or two ago. I wasn't approached at all last year. I will not buy items like this from the parents. I will always buy from kids who sell directly. I mean, unless it's a boy scout selling popcorn. I hate that stuff.

@Tanjowen: I'm not a fan of the online link. Dude, if you want me to buy your cookies, and I can't see the cute kid behind the sale, I'm not buying. Pictures of the cute kid don't count.

DH's cousin's daughter called us and asked if we wanted to purchase any. We did. We haven't seen them at stores yet though.

we just moved to the suburbs and i was so excited that the girl across the street was selling door to door! usually, someone at work just puts out their kid's sheet in the kitchen.

Nope. Just a mom bringing the order form around work.

I have a personal policy that i only buy from the girl scouts, not the parents. My 8 year old cousin emailed me from her mom's email accout and i counted that, but otherwise, only in person and not from the parents.

I bought from a little girl who's mom is in my moms group. I usually see them just haven't seen them lately. We don't live near enough to each other to see daily. I don't mind buying over the web, however it defeats the purpose of learning to sell and set goals. To be fair my parents always took the sheets to work for people to order.

We had one come to our door last week with a wagon full! Nearly bought her out I was at my sisters house a few days later and one came to her door too. Its been a while since I had seen them with the actual cookies ready to go (besides at the grocery store) so that was cool. I live in Arizona though, so no weather issues to worry about with door to door selling.

I only buy from my nieces and the girls who sell in person (like the neighbor girl who came to my door this year). My parents always made me sell myself, and I still have a chip on my shoulder about all of my friends whose parents took a signup to work on their behalf, ha.

My DD is selling cookies for the first time this year. She has walked several streets in our neighborhood. It took us several weekends to do this and half of the people were not home. It's actually a pretty big effort to go door to door, because after the order arrives, we have to go back out and deliver all of these cookies, and we aren't allowed to take $$ until delivery. So if people aren't home, we have to come back. Cookie booths are very popular with troops because the customer gets the cookies immediately and you get paid immediately. I took an order form to work and included a note that my DD wrote. Also, we earn only about $0.60 on the box for the troop so.. you really have to sell a lot of cookies to make it worthwhile.

They were sellling them in the mall parking lot awhile back, so we bought some. yum!
