My husband, baby and I went out to dinner tonight. There was a group of college kids at the table next to us and they were talking to baby in her high chair and baby was smiling back at them. Then one of the girls took out her picture phone and took a couple of pictures. I didn't say anything but found it really bizarre to know my baby is probably on some college girls facebook page now.
That's weird, right, or is this just something that happens now that everyone has a picture phone?

I really really dislike it when people take picture of me or my LO. I actively prevent it, because I am just a really private person.

@mrbee: Yeah I wasn't a fan but I wasn't sure what to do. I was on the opposite side of the table and didn't even notice what she was doing at first since there were a couple of them cooing at her. Then all that came in my head was 'no pictures please' but that sounded too diva-esque to me.

This sounds weird. I wouldn't mind friends/family, but a stranger? If a situation like that ever happens, I'd try to prevent it as much as possible.

It would really bother me, and I would probably have asked her to not take pictures. Its up to me to post pictures of my family, not up to someone else. I am a private person too

@mrbee: I'm with you on this one! I find that really freaky/creepy that some random would take a picture of your LO. Definitely crosses boundaries for me and it does put the parents in the awkward position of telling the random not to take a photo. I guess you just put it back onto them so that they realise how inappropriate they are being

No, that is so weird! I would have been pretty freaked out, I don't know if I would have said something or not.
Of course, I don't post pics of my LO on facebook so yeah... I'm pretty private!

Yeah that's weird. People should ask before taking pictures, especially of a baby!
I even get weirded out when people take pictures of my dog. Like you said, he's probably on people's Facebook pages. Why don't they just ask first?

I'd be pretty freaked out, and would probably say something. I'm always baffled when people do things that I would NEVER do, like take a picture of a stranger's baby, touch a pregnant woman's belly without asking, or comment on a stranger's parenting in public (or anywhere, unless it was abusive/neglectful).

It's happened to us quite a few times. I do think it's a little strange, but I'm glad people think he's so cute
