My maternal aunt had to have a fibroid removed before taking Clomid and having my cousin.
Other than her, it just me amongst all my family and close friends that has dealt for years with infertility issues. But I did have three close co-workers at my job that went through IVF like me.

My mom had trouble getting pregnant with my brother and I. Last weekend, I found out a friend of ours is having trouble ovulating. She's been off of bc since her wedding almost two years ago. Another friend of ours has been doing IVF for some time. I don't know their pregnancy status at the moment, but know that they've struggled with it. I know that she has PCOS. So, a few close friends I know are having trouble getting pregnant or ovulating.

One of my friend/coworkers. She got pregnant via IVF and we were due within weeks of each other, she lost the pregnancy and was devastated. She's such a sweetheart and even threw my work baby shower for me. She found she was pregnant from her 4th attempt, my son was a month old, I can't explain how happy I was for her. Even now I get teary just thinking about what she went through - emotionally/physically/financially - to get her sweet little boy. I admire her strength, every baby has a story and really is a miracle.

Two of my really good friends have dealt with IF. One has a baby now via fertility treatments. The other has unexplained IF and she is now the mama of two adorable adopted children.

@FaithFertility: Yeah, I think I would find a little comfort if, at least, one person in our family had IF.
